Now that we’d negotiated that hurdle it was time to strategize on the next move. Jersey would be our primary residence, therefore we needed to close up the house here for a few months and transport the cats and get them settled in their new home. We’d also need to arrange for someone to care for them while we were on the road and Jon wasn’t sure who he could ask in Jersey.
“What about Katie, your housekeeper? How often does she come in? Would she be willing to consider actually moving in and house-sitting for a few weeks at a time? While the cats can survive with just a daily check for food and water, I can’t leave them there all alone for all the time we are gone” I said, implying that the solution we’d managed for this trip was okay once in a while, but not on a regular basis.
“I don’t know, babe. Katie comes in every other day when I’m in town, but I don’t know if she’d want to actually live there some of the time” he said thoughtfully.
“Jon, I know this sounds crazy, but …” I began and he looked at me with a grin.
“Take them with us?” he smirked.
“Could we? The Hard Rock made allowances for Linda’s dog. Maybe we could try it?” I pleaded.
“If it was just one, even two maybe. But five? I’m not sure that would even be the best for them, darlin’. They’d be okay with the plane since it’s our plane, but I don’t know” he said, realizing this was a real issue.
“I know, I’m not sure it makes sense either, but I can’t leave them all alone that much” I said.
I was starting to feel really distressed now. I wanted to be with Jon, but I wasn’t going to let the cats suffer neglect because of it and I couldn’t imagine being without them all the time either. It wasn’t like there were grandparents nearby who they could stay with while we were away. I started to empathize with how Dot must have felt with the kids and the dog and yet being apart so much didn’t seem like a reasonable alternative either. It wasn’t as though I could just call up and talk to them on the phone.
“Trish, just think about this for a minute. Do you really think they would be happy being dragged all over the country with us? What about Beowulf? She’s so old already” he argued, stroking the sleeping cat on his lap.
I knew he was right. Eddie and Zeke could adapt to a mobile lifestyle, but the other three were just too elderly. It would be far too stressful for them to be uprooted every few days. They didn’t even like it much when I stayed out late at night. I had to make this decision based on what was best for them and not just what I wanted.
“What if I could find homes for the older three and we just took Eddie and Zeke when we travel? They’re younger and healthy, they could adapt better. Jon, I can’t lose Eddie and Zeke and they would never attach to someone else like they have with me. Especially Eddie, he’s a mama’s boy” I said, the tears beginning to form.
“I know, baby, I know. We could try it. Maybe we could see if Cherie and Dave would take the three seniors and then you could still visit them. We could see how the other two take to traveling, I suppose” he conceded.
Jon hated to see me cry and he knew this would be the hardest thing he could ask me to do. He had no doubt that I loved them dearly and that I would miss them horribly, and asking me to give up all five wasn’t even reasonable. But dragging five aged cats around Europe wasn’t a reasonable plan either. Two younger ones would be challenging enough, especially since one was the psycho cat.
“Well, I ‘spose psycho boy there would enjoy seeing Richie more often” he teased, pulling me closer to him to comfort me.
“Really? We could try taking Zeke and Eddie? Do you mean it?” I cried.
“We can try it” he said indulging me.
Jon had his doubts, but he couldn’t say no to me on this. If it didn’t go well he knew it was better for me to see it myself and make the decision, knowing we’d tried. And who knew what was possible. It could work and we should at least give it a chance. The dates for this tour were already firmly carved out, but in future he could arrange a gentler schedule to accommodate this new wrinkle in his life. Touring less wouldn’t be such a hardship now that he had a reason to want to be home. Maybe Dot and the kids would take Opie since everyone liked him.
I knew that Cherie would be glad to take Beowulf, but Opie and Floyd would be harder to place. Beowulf needed more attention and had had to share the spotlight with the boys and never really adjusted to that. She would be happy with Cherie with only one other cat to compete with, but Floyd hated everyone but me. Opie was a mellow cat and would adapt, but Cherie had always had only girls and wouldn’t want to change the status quo that much. Maybe my friend Joe. He had a great way with animals and two more added to his menagerie wouldn’t faze him. This could work as long as I still had visitation rights.
We began to talk over adoption plans and ideas for how to broach the subject. We could pay for any expenses and even subsidize their care as an incentive. Jon said he’d be willing to offer a generous bribe to close the deal if it seemed like there was any hesitation and we agreed we’d start to explore the possibilities tomorrow. Jon threw another log on the fire and settled back down on the couch as I nestled in closer to him.
“We’ll figure it out, baby. We’ll work it out” Jon comforted me.
Eddie was already snuggling in on my lap and I stroked his head, running my hands across his soft fur as he began to purr softly. I loved my cats and I loved Jon; this would be a hard decision and the solution wouldn’t be easy for any of us. Jon kissed my hair and took my hand in his, a silent gesture of solidarity in which he assured me that we were in this together.
The evening passed quietly and soon it was late. The wine and the warmth from the fireplace made us sleepy and Jon yawned. The cats were all sleeping peacefully, unaware of the coming upheaval they would have to endure. We hadn’t slept in our own bed in nearly two weeks and I began to crave the comfort of the familiar.
“Let’s go to bed, love. It’s been so long since we spent the night in our own bed” I prompted and he nodded.
I gently nudged Eddie, still asleep on my lap and Jon got up to close down the fireplace. We climbed in to our bed together, glad to be home, at least for now, and I laid my head on Jon’s chest. He rubbed my back contentedly as my hand strayed towards Lil’ Jon who greeted me eagerly. I raised my head and smiled and big Jon rewarded me with a lazy grin.
“Wanna re-christen the bed?” I asked provocatively.
“C’mere” he replied with a mischievous glint in his eye.
Jon reached for me then, folding me against him as he devoured my mouth with his kisses. I could feel his stiffening cock poking against my thigh and I raised my leg to encircle his hip. His hand cupped my breast as his lips slid down my throat, making their way towards it. His tongue flicked in and out like a snake against the stiffened knob, arousing me even more.
I was anxious to feel him inside me, but Jon had other ideas and no amount of urging would sway him from his course. I cradled his head in my hands as he suckled me hungrily, his hand creeping downward to stroke my thigh. My legs parted willingly as his head slipped from my hands, his silky hair tickling my belly as he dragged it across my stomach, planting a trail of kisses.
I felt myself growing wetter as I gazed at the sight of his shaggy mane lodged between my thighs; the anticipation was intoxicating as he took his time, teasing me without mercy. He licked lightly at first, parting my lower lips gently as I shuddered with desire. His tongue probed deeper, sending me into a spasm of delight as he grazed the sensitive pearl he found waiting impatiently.
His long fingers probed further and I groaned my appreciation, but I was shamelessly begging him to take me all the way. His thumb massaged me less gently and I began to tremble with the first waves of my release before he took pity on me and replaced his fingers with his rock hard cock.
I was coming and coming and I couldn’t stop as he drove into me like a battering ram. I bit into his shoulder to anchor myself against the throbbing tide as the next climax built deep inside me. His rhythm remained steady as he moved towards his own peak, his breath growing more ragged with every stroke.
I felt the tension in his arms, the taut muscles straining like hardened steel beneath the soft skin, as he held himself above me. I raised my head to lick the perspiration on his throat and I sensed he was close, waiting only for me to join him.
“Come with me baby, one more time” he urged.
I was nearly exhausted, but my body responded to his words as if they were a command and I felt my muscles contract again, drawing him in deeper. I felt his warmth flood me inside as I shook from the force of my own explosion and we collapsed in a tangled heap, shuddering as we absorbed the aftershocks.
As if on cue, the cats began to arrive on the bed while we lay there, unable to move. Jon began to chuckle quietly as they came, one by one, and nuzzled us and Zeke began to cry. Jon rolled off of me and lifted the blankets for him. He burrowed under, tucking himself in between us and I was pleased that Jon had become accustomed to the routine.
“I guess it’s time to go to sleep” he observed wryly.
I leaned over Zeke’s purring body and kissed Jon goodnight while the other cats settled into their respective positions. It was good to be home.

The Sauna Part 148
Once outside in the changing room, we burst into laughter and it took several moments before we caught our breath. We both had a real disregard for conventional behavior and a penchant for breaking the rules and that made for a dangerous combination. I was just grateful that it hadn’t been Vicky who’d decided to check out the sauna or there’d be no possibility of redemption then.
We put our robes back on and headed back to our rooms. I tried to behave when we were in the elevator, but Jon was in a playful mood and was relentless in his efforts to untie the belt that held my robe closed. I slapped his hand away several times, but it was a half-hearted attempt to discourage him at best.
“C’mon, you know you want me” he teased me.
“Eeewww, you’re sweaty and grubby” I complained, making a face.
“Yeah, I know, and I’m irresistible too” he grinned, pinning me against the wall as he fumbled with the belt for the third time.
“Jon, stop it-we’re gonna get caught!” I tried reasoning with him.
“You like that idea as much as I do, admit it” he challenged, turning my face to look directly at him.
He slipped his other hand inside my robe, his finger probing me to prove he was right. I started to protest, but my mouth went dry, my heart was pounding and I’d have been a liar if I denied it. The possibility of discovery only heightened the excitement and he knew it and he knew me. There were no secrets between us.
I untied his robe in answer, but the elevator stopped, saving us from ourselves. The hallway was empty and we had managed to avoid exposure yet again, but we were both aroused by the possibility and ready to continue what we’d started.
Once inside the room, we shed our robes and I pulled Jon along to the shower. I bent over to turn on the water and Jon grabbed my hips, sliding into me from behind. I caught my breath as I gripped the sides of the bathtub for balance. He slapped my ass and I squealed, coming almost instantly. His fingers dug into my flesh harder and he released his load in only a few short thrusts.
“Shit” he observed, surprised by how quickly that happened.
“Maybe now we can bathe?” I asked as I straightened up and turned to face him.
“Yeah, baby, I think I’m really done now” he chuckled.
We finally made it into the shower and bathed, the warm water and suds wiping away all evidence of the morning’s adventures. The sun was beginning to come out and the snow had stopped. Jon called Vicky and she confirmed that the airport was open and that she and the crew were just waiting on us.
It was a short flight and we flew into Buffalo at about eleven that morning. I was anxious to get home and see my babies, so we rented a car rather than waiting for a limo to be available. Jon was hungry and we opted for the drive-thru at Tim Horton’s in order to make better time. It was beginning to snow again as we pulled in the driveway.
I opened the door to the house and we were greeted by a horde of screeching cats. Cherie had left them a supply of food, but they’d finished it all and were demanding a refill. Jon got them fresh water and I replenished their supplies while they scarfed down their meal, barely acknowledging that we were home.
“Wow, what a welcome” I lamented.
“They have their priorities” Jon observed, hugging me as we watched them devour their food.
We brought the suitcases in from the car, pausing first to inspect the new hot tub on the patio. It looked more like a mini spa and was large enough to accommodate six people comfortably and I wished the weather was such that we could have tried it. I hugged Jon and deeply appreciated his thoughtfulness.
I wanted to do our laundry from the trip and Jon built a fire as the house was fairly cold. I figured the cats would be grateful too and perhaps they’d forgive us for leaving them once they were able to snuggle in front of the hearth. They had essentially ignored us since finishing eating and appeared far more interested in the suitcases than us. The laundry was in and the house began to lose its chill as the fire took hold and Jon threw another log on the brazier.
“Come and sit down” he encouraged, patting the sofa.
I poured us each a glass of wine and joined him in front of the fire and we talked about our plans for the near future. The cats eventually tired of investigating the suitcases and wandered in to join us, unable to resist the fire. Beowulf was the first to forgive us as she hopped onto the couch and curled up in Jon’s lap and he patted her head.
“So, what are the plans?” I inquired, curious to know what to expect.
“Well, I was thinking we could close up the house here and get ourselves settled in Jersey and then I wanted to take you away for a few weeks before the tour swings into full gear. We’ve got a couple gigs at Giants around Christmas and then in January we start Europe” he shared.
“I need to start getting involved in the fan club too and start planning the Foundation, remember. Did you tell your mom about that?” I wondered.
“Actually, no, darlin’. I guess I’m dreading that as much as you dreaded telling your father about quitting your job. I don’t want her to think I was unhappy with how she was running it, so I have to choose carefully how I approach the subject” he said, scratching his chin.
I understood that it would be a delicate topic, especially given his mother’s enormous ego. I didn’t think she would appreciate being replaced by me in particular, but I was anxious to start feeling productive again and figured I could start with setting up the Foundation. I didn’t envy Jon the task he had ahead of him.
“Have you thought about how to tell her?” I asked.
“I was hoping to wait until after the holidays, but I was thinking I’d tackle it by suggesting that she deserved to retire at the end of the year. We’ll have to plan a party and make the announcements” he added, thinking it through.
“That sounds like a good strategy, love, but you’d better start having the conversations now if you want to make the transition by then” I prompted.
Jon made a face, but he nodded, knowing I was right about this. He really wasn’t looking forward to it and he knew his mother was likely to resent being replaced no matter how he framed it. Her role with the fan club gave her some status with his fans even though he realized she had actually done little to truly manage its operation.
“Get me the phone, no time like the present I suppose” he agreed resignedly.
I got up to get the phone as we didn’t want to disturb Beowulf who was purring contentedly on Jon’s lap. I handed it to him as I refilled his wine glass without asking, knowing he’d need it. It meant a lot to me that he was willing to risk an argument with his mother on my behalf.
“Hi mom, it’s me” he said pleasantly when she picked up the phone.
“Jon? Are you home?” I heard her ask.
“We’re in Buffalo and planning to be back in Jersey shortly, but there’s something I’ve been thinking about that I wanted to discuss. Mom, you know how much I appreciate all the work you’ve done over the years with the fan club, but I’ve been thinking. It’s time that you retired so you and dad can have more free time and maybe travel, or just relax. Dad’s been retired now for years and it’s time you took a break now too” he ventured.
“Oh Jon, don’t be ridiculous. You know I don’t mind doing it and it hasn’t been that much work” she reassured him.
“I know you’ve never complained, and as I said, I am grateful for everything you’ve done, but I want you to relax and not have to deal with all the details and nonsense that goes on there. I’m thinking we could celebrate your retirement with a huge party at the end of the year and then Trish can take over in January” he announced, closing his eyes and holding his breath.
I laid my hand on his arm and waited. Jon was good and he had approached a difficult topic with great skill, but I knew the mention of my name as her replacement would open a can of worms and from the look on his face, he knew it too. No matter what spin he put on it, his mother wasn’t going to give up her throne gracefully.
“What? Who? Jon, you’re being absurd. What does she know about business or how to run the club? I’m not going to let you ruin your reputation by putting someone who has no experience in charge, so just forget it. I will continue to run things, just as I always have, and that’s that” she said with a note of finality.
“Mom, this isn’t up for debate. I’ve already decided this and I’m not going to argue with you about it. Trish has a great deal of experience in management, which you’d know if you’d bothered to talk to her at all” he said firmly through gritted teeth.
I could feel the muscles in his arm tense as he said it and I was surprised he let his annoyance with her recent behavior slip out. He wasn’t used to having his decisions challenged either, not by his mom or anyone else for that matter.
“Carol, it’s Jon’s decision and I agree. It’s time to let go” his father chimed in.
“What have I done to deserve being treated like this? How can you do this to me? How can you make such a rash decision and throw away everything I’ve done? What has that woman done to you?” she screeched through a sob.
Jon was angry now and no longer sympathetic. He was fed up with his mother’s selfishness and demands and he wasn’t going to allow her to play the martyr. The truth was that she hadn’t done a good job running the club and had contributed to the divisiveness he so hated by playing favorites and abusing the power he’d given her and he said so.
“Don’t start playing the victim here with me; it won’t work. It’s because of you that some of my fans felt alienated to begin with and I’m sick of your whining and complaints. Trish is my wife, whether or not you accept our marriage as valid, and I expect you to shape up and treat her with respect or there will be trouble. That much I promise you” he said menacingly.
I could hear Carol wailing on the other end and I felt terrible that I was the source of this rift between them. I knew Jon could get angry, but I hadn’t expected him to blast her with all of his resentment like this. He was furious and the more she protested, the more enraged he was getting. I was really beginning to hate her.
“Carol, stop it. Jon’s right and it’s time you gave this all up. I’m sure he’s considered this carefully and it is up to him. You need to respect his decisions and his wife” I heard his dad say in Jon’s defense.
“Mom, I’m not going to argue about this anymore. I’ve made my decision and it’s done, so accept it. I’ll make the announcement on the boards myself and we’ll plan a grand retirement party and that’s the end of it. Do you understand me?” he fumed.
Carol hung up on him, but at least the worst was over. His father assured him he would talk to her and supported his decision. I liked his dad even more than ever.
“Son, I’m proud of you and it was time you stood up to her. I said as much myself about the way she behaved towards Trish and I’m glad you called her on it. Don’t worry about it anymore, I’ll handle her” he said reassuringly.
“Thanks dad. I’m sorry to put you in the middle and I should have done this in person while we were there, but I knew she’d behave like this. She’s gonna be miserable to live with right now” Jon said apologetically.
“Don’t worry about it; I’m used to your mother’s tantrums. Just go ahead and take care of business and do what you need to do. And give Trish my apologies for your mother’s behavior” he added before saying goodbye.
Jon took a deep breath and set the phone down. He looked weary, but much of the anger had dissipated and he seemed more exasperated and disappointed. I was probably more angry myself now and I felt really incensed at his mother, but more because of what I gathered Jon had lacked from her his whole life rather than just simply this particular incident. Her selfishness hadn’t just begun when Jon rocketed to fame.
“Jon, I am so sorry that you have to deal with this. I wish your mother wasn’t so difficult, but it seems we both have had to contend with difficult mothers for a long time” I said, turning his face to kiss him.
“Thanks, baby, but I’m okay. I knew it would end up this way, but just like my dad, I’m used to it too. That’s why I understand about your mother. You and I have a lot in common; we try so hard to be different from our mothers” he said reflectively as he laid his head on my shoulder.
We put our robes back on and headed back to our rooms. I tried to behave when we were in the elevator, but Jon was in a playful mood and was relentless in his efforts to untie the belt that held my robe closed. I slapped his hand away several times, but it was a half-hearted attempt to discourage him at best.

The Sauna Part 147
Our suite was spacious, with a wide screen TV and a huge, king size bed. There was wine waiting for us when we arrived and Jon opened the door to the bathroom, anxious to verify that there really was a hot tub and we both nodded our approval. He reached down to turn on the water and let it fill while we pondered our options for dinner. We were both famished now.
We decided to venture down to the restaurant, knowing we were safe from the press and wanting to take advantage of the opportunity. It wasn’t often that we could go to dinner without worrying that there’d be pictures of us the following day. The tub was full and looked appealing and I flipped on the switch for the heat and the whirlpool, knowing it would be ready and waiting for us.
It was still early and the storm had kept most of the patrons away so we had the restaurant largely to ourselves. The waitress brought us menus, but suggested we explore the buffet and we opted for that rather than waiting for a meal to be prepared. The selection was good and we both filled our plates with salad and seafood. Jon dipped a fat piece of shrimp in cocktail sauce and held it out for me with an inviting look.
I took it eagerly, savoring the sweet flesh as I closed my eyes and he reached to wipe the tiny bit of sauce left on my lips. I kissed his finger and opened my eyes slightly in promise of what was yet to come. The good food and relaxing atmosphere fueled our appetites and we ate heartily.
“Don’t fill up too soon, darlin”. Remember there’s still Italian sausage that’s not on the buffet” he teased with a devilish look.
“Not to worry, love. I can always find room for that” I grinned.
The waitress checked on us several times, refilled our wine glasses and asked about coffee. It was pleasant to enjoy a leisurely meal together, just the two of us, and we decided to linger a bit before heading upstairs to our room. Vicky and the crew had come in earlier, but were seated at a large table across the room and I could tell that she was watching us.
We kept our promise and behaved like respectable adults, doing nothing obvious to draw her attention. Jon signaled to the waitress that we were finished and paid the bill for their meals as well as ours, leaving a generous tip as he thanked her for excellent service. I no longer worried about what we spent, having long ago decided to leave those decisions in his hands. We waived goodnight to Vicky and the rest and she mouthed a thank you for dinner.
The hot tub was ready when we reached our room, steam rising from the bubbling water. Jon found a music station on cable while I poured us each a glass of wine. We stripped off our clothes, eager to sink into the soothing water. I leaned back and closed my eyes as the whirlpool jets massaged my limbs and ‘Satisfaction’ played softly in the background with Jon singing along softly.
“I can’t get no girlie action, but I tried …” he sang as he opened one eye and looked at me slyly.
“That’ll be the day” I smirked, but I got the hint and moved towards him, settling in between his legs.
He wrapped his arms around me and stroked my breasts in a lazy motion and I dropped my head back onto his shoulder. We were both rather spent from our earlier escapades and it had been a taxing day. Even Lil’ Jon seemed content to just relax quietly and enjoy the moment.
We soaked in the hot tub for over an hour before deciding it was time to go to bed. We dried off and finished our wine as we listened to the weather channel to see whether the storm was still wreaking havoc over Buffalo. It appeared to be moving south, but it looked as though it would blow over Ohio by the morning and we should be able to continue on our way.
“Let’s get to sleep tonight so we can make an early start in the morning” he suggested.
I yawned in reply and we crawled into bed, neither of us resisting the temptation to fall asleep once our heads hit the pillow. I remember thinking that it could be fun to relive our first meeting and visit the sauna in the morning if we got up at a reasonable hour.
It was still dark when I woke and I reached over to open Jon’s cell phone and check the time. It was almost six o’clock. I nudged Jon, who was still sleeping, and whispered that it was morning. He reached out and pulled me tighter against him, still half asleep.
“Jon, the sauna won’t be so crowded at this hour if we hurry and get up” I urged.
“Sauna? Oh, the sauna” he repeated as memory began to return.
“Let’s get coffee downstairs and go to the sauna before we shower” I prompted seeing that he was still groggy.
“Okay, babe, I’m awake now” he mumbled as he reached over to turn on the light, and missed, tumbling out of bed and onto the floor.
I laughed as he hit the floor with a thud and uttered an expletive. I rolled to the edge of the bed, still warm where his body had been, and turned on the light.
“Well, NOW I’m awake” he laughed too.
“Are you okay?” I inquired, trying not to laugh harder.
“Yes, I’m fine-thank you so much for your concern” he said sarcastically as he reached up and yanked me out of bed and onto the floor on top of him.
“Okay, okay” I sputtered. “I’m up too”
I kissed his forehead and stood up, offering him my hand to pull him up from the floor. We stood for a few seconds to regain our balance and scanned the room for our robes, but they were still in the suitcase since we hadn’t bothered to unpack for one night. I unzipped it and removed them, handing Jon’s to him. We grabbed a couple large towels and headed down to the lobby in search of the hospitality station and coffee.
The lobby was empty and quiet and the desk clerk nodded as we passed by the front desk. Jon poured us both a cup and I grabbed a couple cookies before we headed off in search of the sauna. We followed the signs down a corridor and opened the door at the end. There was a small changing room with partitioned stalls but no need as we were alone. We stripped off the robes and exchanged them for the towels and pushed open the door into the sauna.
I was greeted by a sudden blast of dry, hot air and the odor of cedar as we surveyed the chamber. It was rather small and certainly had no capacity to accommodate a crowd, but there were two benches on each wall and a dim light. Jon immediately noticed the latch on the door had been disassembled, making it impossible to lock from within.
It was no surprise that the sauna was intended for public rather than private use and we giggled as we read the signs that detailed the “rules for conduct” posted inside. Not to be thwarted by such a challenge, together we moved one of the benches against the door to prevent any untimely disturbance. We had learned our lesson the first time.
We shed our towels quickly and I crawled into Jon’s lap, both of us smirking at our ability to circumvent the “rules”. Jon kissed me hotly as he gathered my hair behind my head in a ponytail. I kissed him back, dragging his tongue a little deeper.
“’Spose we’ll get in trouble for bringing coffee and food into the sauna?” I wondered aloud, nodding in the direction of the sign that said No Food or Drink Allowed.
“They have to catch us first” he cackled as his tongue snaked down my neck.
He swept my hair to one side as he proceeded to lick his way down my throat, stopping to suck on my shoulder. His free hand roamed across my breasts and he pinched my hardened nipple between his fingers. I could feel him beginning to stiffen beneath me and my belly quickened in anticipation.
“I see Lil’ Jon is awake now too” I observed.
“He is indeed and quite ready to play” he nodded as he slid a finger inside my dampening folds.
I moaned softly as his finger slipped over my sensitive button and his mouth returned to its former target. I felt deliciously naughty and wanton as I threw my head back to further expose my throat and I guided his mouth towards it. Jon was fully erect now and anxious to replace his finger with his cock and I raised myself off the bench to accommodate his entry.
He slid me slowly onto his shaft as I steadied myself with my hands on the wall. Once in position, I replaced my hands on his shoulders and began to bounce gently as I rolled my hips. It was his turn to groan as he shifted and gripped my ass to support me. The angle allowed for more friction than usual and I felt my orgasm beginning to build.
“Come for me baby” he purred encouragingly.
I rode him a bit faster as my nails dug into his shoulder and he looked straight into my eyes. His pupils were dilated and his eyes appeared to darken as his lids fluttered and I knew he was getting close.
“Bring me home, Jon” I commanded and he squeezed my ass, pulling me tighter against him.
“Look at me, lady” he said softly.
His voice was tender and gentle and it was a request, not a demand. His eyes were wide open now as he grinned at me and I met his steady gaze. The beads of sweat on my brow grew together, coalescing to form a large droplet that ran down my nose and fell onto my breasts. Jon’s tongue darted out to follow its trail as I panted from the heat as well as the excitement.
I rode him hard as my climax grew closer and I stiffened as the wave broke over me, wracking my body with shudders. I called his name as I came and he held me tighter as the spasms brought him home along with me. He panted then too, struggling to get his breath in the hot, dry air as he released his love inside me.
I felt close to losing consciousness and he held me securely, sweat glistening on the taught muscles in his arms. I opened my eyes to stay grounded, my breath coming in ragged gasps as I flinched, startled at the sound of the door being rattled.
“Shit” Jon hissed under his breath as my heart raced.
He stood up in a flash, supporting me as I slipped off and collapsed on the bench. I scrambled to reach my towel and wrapped it around me and Jon did the same before bending to lift the bench that was blocking the door. His legs were still shaky and he tripped, hitting his knee on the bench and making a loud noise.
“Shit” he cursed again, pausing to collect himself and giving me an extra moment to secure my towel before he removed the barrier to the entrance.
He sat down beside me heavily on the bench and sighed as the door pushed open. An older gentleman walked in, peering into the dark chamber. He was followed by what I guessed was his wife and they were dressed in swimwear, having either come from the pool or planning a cool dip after a good sweat. Jon flashed them a brilliant smile as they came inside and looked for a place to sit.
“We were just leaving so you can have the place to yourselves. But be careful though, the latch on the door sticks a little” he explained, jiggling it for emphasis.
“Oh, thank you for telling us-we thought maybe it was locked” the gentleman replied. “But you don’t need to leave, there’s plenty of room” he added pleasantly.
“Thanks, but I don’t think we could take much more right now” Jon replied smoothly and I hid my smile with my hand as we made our departure.
We decided to venture down to the restaurant, knowing we were safe from the press and wanting to take advantage of the opportunity. It wasn’t often that we could go to dinner without worrying that there’d be pictures of us the following day. The Sauna Part 146
Our conversation about his family had actually done much to relieve some of my anxiety. I knew the subject would invariably come up and I wouldn’t have been able to avoid it forever. Things went much easier when Jon and I were on the same page. Jon had closed his eyes to rest and I picked up my book, wondering if I would ever have a chance to read if it weren’t for airplane rides.
I was looking forward to seeing my babies soon and wondering how long it would take before they forgave me for leaving them alone so long. I also began to think about how much fun it was going to be to uproot them and move them to Jersey. I grinned at the thought of how the five of them would take over Jon’s house-“our house”-and make it their own.
“You’ve been staring at the same page for ten minutes and smiling. What are you daydreaming about?” Jon asked, grinning himself as he reminisced about how we’d met.
“I thought you were sleeping” I said, a bit startled, but I recovered quickly. “I was just thinking about the cats and how they’ll enjoy exploring our house in Jersey”
“Shit, I liked what you were dreaming about a whole lot better when we first met” he groaned.
“And that came true, didn’t it?” I giggled.
He raised his eyebrow at that, but it was the truth. I’d always believed that if I could imagine it, I could make it happen. Jon was living proof that this was what magik really was. Now if I could just imagine the cats in Jersey...
“Were you really dreaming about me back then?” he asked, serious now.
“Yeah, love, I really was. Why do you think I was so startled when I opened my eyes and there you were!” I admitted.
Jon looked at me intently and I could swear I saw the light bulb go off. I wondered what it was that I’d said that led to such a look. I was only trying to get him to start picturing the cats in his house so that the reality would be less of an actual shock.
“What is it? What are you thinking? It won’t be that bad, babe, really. They’re good cats…” I began when he interrupted.
“No, no, it’s not the cats. I just finally got it about what magik really is all about. I never stopped dreaming about being successful as a rock star, not even in the dourest moments. I could see myself on stage and see the audience. I always visualized it, always, and I focused all my energy on creating that image of myself. That’s what magik is, isn’t it?” he beamed excitedly.
I was taken aback as I looked at him in awe. It had taken me years of reading and practicing visualization and I don’t think I had ever really quite understood it either until he said that. You become what you dream, that’s how the energy is manifested. The vision changes you, not your environment.
“Oh my God and Goddess! Jon, that’s it! I never fully got it either until you said it just now! We don’t change things; we change our selves when we dream” I reflected, every bit as excited as Jon.
I stood up and pulled him to his feet, unable to contain myself. I hugged him for all he was worth and kissed him over and over. I couldn’t believe the incredible wisdom he had just shared with me. I felt a surge of energy and power such as I had never known and I owed it all to his insight.
“Jon, you have no idea how much this means to me to finally understand this after all these years of just believing! How can I ever thank you?” I exclaimed, too high to calm down.
“Well, this seems like a good start” he purred, kissing me back with his own enthusiasm.
Something let go inside me and I was overwhelmed with the need to celebrate this discovery and thank the God and Goddess for yet another gift. My body was on fire and Jon was the only thing that could quench it. I literally ripped the shirt he was wearing off of him and grabbed the waistband of his jeans as I fumbled with the button.
My spark fanned his flame and our clothes were soon in a heap on the floor of the cabin. He lifted me into the air as he slid his wand inside me and carried me to the couch. We tumbled onto the cushions, locked in each other’s arms and we made love desperately, creating a palpable energy around us.
I cried out for him and he answered my call, plunging into me each time more deeply than before. I was the chalice and he was the sword and our union made magik as the Goddess and God united within us. Jon’s seed spilled into me like a rain of holy water fertilizing my ground and we both wept in joyous release. There was nothing and there was everything.
The plane pitched and dipped as we flew through the storm, unaware there had ever been any danger. The warning lights to fasten our seatbelts had come on but we never noticed and now there was a frantic buzzing sound that I had never heard before. As my head cleared and I came back to earth, I asked Jon where the noise was coming from.
“It’s the intercom, Vicky must be trying to get us” he said, his eyes trying to focus as he struggled against the fog that was clouding his brain after such powerful magik.
He sat up and reached for the button which we had hit accidentally when we fell onto the couch. Vicky rushed through the doorway now that she could gain entrance and looked at once relieved and dismayed. Jon forgot his own nakedness as he pulled me against him to cover me.
“What’s wrong? What happened?” he demanded, looking alarmed.
“The storm, Jon. I was trying to tell you to buckle up as we were heading into a terrible storm, but the damn do not disturb button was on and I couldn’t get through on the damn intercom! I was worried you’d gotten hurt when I heard a crash and you didn’t answer” Vicky sputtered, somewhere between annoyance and amusement.
“As I’m sure you can see, we appear to be undamaged” Jon replied with his megawatt grin as she turned on her heels and walked out.
“Oh shit” he said, turning to look at me. “That’s the first time that ever happened!”
“Where are our clothes? We’ve got to apologize!” I exclaimed, feeling completely mortified.
“Shit, they’re over there” Jon said as he glanced back by our seats.
We scrambled to get dressed, like two guilty teenagers, when the humor suddenly struck us. It was a bizarre situation and yet it was incredibly funny at the same time. Vicky had shamed us both but we didn’t regret it for a moment and now had to find some way to make amends. We both dissolved in a fit of laughter as Jon rummaged through the carry-on bag for a new shirt since I had shredded the old one.
“You know she’s gonna blame this on me, don’t you?” he asked with a gleam in his eye.
“Well, it is your fault, you know. But I’ll go and explain that you just couldn’t control yourself and that I promise to try and keep you in check from now on” I teased as I headed for the cabin door.
“Don’t you dare! I’ll speak with her, it’s me she pissed at and I’m totally innocent this time since you started it” he challenged, tackling me before I could get to the door.
We collapsed again on the couch, giggling like crazy. I tickled Jon and he fought to get the upper hand. I finally conceded and let him win when he started to kiss my neck. It would have been exceedingly hard to convince Vicky of our remorse if she busted us again for the same crime. We decided to go together and apologize.
“C’mon, you’re an actor. Try to look like you’re ashamed” I goaded him.
“It’s hard to say I’m sorry when I have every intention of repeating the offense” he admitted.
Despite that, we did a passable job of appearing recalcitrant and Vicky forgave us but threatened to withhold supper as a penance. She did tell us how serious the storm had actually been and that we were through the worst of it and that she was sorry she’d lost her temper. We also learned that the Buffalo airport was closed and we passed on dinner since we’d be landing soon in Cincinnati.
We returned to our seats and behaved like model passengers when Vicky brought us drinks and Jon made a few calls on the cell to find us a hotel. He managed to book us a room at the Cincinnati Hilton and I looked at him out of the corner of my eye when he asked if they had a suite with a hot tub.
“Excellent, we’ll take that. And you have a sauna too?” he cackled, raising his eyebrows and making a face at me.
Jon booked rooms for Vicky and the crew too since he felt responsible for getting everyone stranded and planned to have champagne delivered to Vicky’s room as a gesture of contrition. We arrived at the Cincinnati airport just before they closed due to the weather as well. I silently thanked the God and Goddess for getting us to a safe haven and we took a cab to the hotel.
I was looking forward to seeing my babies soon and wondering how long it would take before they forgave me for leaving them alone so long. I also began to think about how much fun it was going to be to uproot them and move them to Jersey.

The Sauna Part 145
“Had enough yet?” Jon asked with a grin.
“Baby, I’ll never get tired of your loving” I replied honestly.
Jon groaned but he was laughing as he rolled over onto his back, taking me along with him. We had made love again all night and the more I had of him, the more I wanted. I couldn’t get enough and he seemed unable to deny me either. It was as though summer had come again for both of us.
“What am I gonna do with you, woman?” he said in desperation.
“Love me” I said simply.
And he did, again and again until the moon had risen high in the sky. The Goddess smiled on us and her light shone in our eyes. We fed on each other’s need until the dawn came again, finally collapsing in utter ecstasy for the final time.
There was no need for a wake up call this morning as Jon woke me with his kisses. It was just after seven and we were still alive and, surprisingly, none the worse for wear. Last night’s revels had been good for us, and rather than feeling drained, we were energized. Jon reached for the phone and called the front desk.
“Good morning! We’re awake and we’ll be checking out in a few hours, but would you mind sending up some coffee now?” he chirped into the phone.
He gave me his hand and pulled me out of bed, folding me against his chest. The light was beginning to fill the room and it looked as if it would be a gorgeous day. I could hear the birds chirping outside, heralding the morning.
“Shower?” I suggested and he nodded.
We bathed leisurely, enjoying the feel of the hot water cascading over us like a waterfall. My senses seemed especially heightened and everything appeared more intense. I buried my face against his neck, soaking in the feel of his body and the scent of him despite the odor of shampoo.
The coffee was waiting for us as we’d requested and I poured us each a cup. Jon lit a cigarette as I took a sip, noting that it had never tasted so good. Jon was humming “It’s My Life” and strutting around like a peacock and I couldn’t have stopped smiling if my life depended on it.
We dressed coolly, taking care to pack warmer clothes and our coats in the carry-on. It might be sunny and eighty degrees in Florida, but it was most likely snowing in Buffalo. Jon flicked on the TV and we watched the weather channel and had to laugh at our luck. The weather had apparently been unseasonably warm during the past week and now they were expecting a blizzard by nightfall.
“Snowed in with you and a fireplace doesn’t sound like torture” I crooned, slipping my arms about his waist.
“No, it doesn’t” he smiled, sipping his coffee. “As long as the airport is open” he added with a frown.
I hadn’t thought about that, but he had a point. Early snowstorms after a spell of warm weather meant the lake wasn’t frozen and we were definitely in the zone for lake effect. Gowanda was protected in the valley, but we had to get to Buffalo to get there.
“We might as well give it a try. Maybe we’ll make it before the storm. If the airport is closed we can land somewhere else, but at least we’ll be closer” he concluded, having pondered the options.
We made ready to go and I called Cherie to tell her there was a chance we might not make it back tonight if the storm came early. She was going to go to the house and check on the kids and refill their supplies this afternoon anyway, so they’d be okay if we didn’t make it in until tomorrow morning.
“Hi Cherie” Jon called into the phone.
“Let me talk to him a minute” she asked.
“What’s up, doll?” Jon said as he took the phone.
“I didn’t know if you’d told Trish about the surprise, but the hot tub is all done and it’s gorgeous. Wait ‘till you see it” she said excitedly.
“Good, good. Yes, she knows, but I’m afraid we won’t get to try it out until the Spring” he said, his mouth forming the familiar duck lips.
“Well, don’t rush to get here. Everything is fine and I can take care of the cats a couple more days if you need me to-just stay safe, okay?” she said anxiously.
“Thanks for everything, Cherie. We certainly owe you a huge debt. But don’t worry, we’ll be fine. I think we’ll get in before it gets bad. Besides, Mama misses her kids” he reassured her.
I was missing the cats and I wondered whether Jon might actually be missing them himself. I’d noticed he hadn’t referred to them as furry little devils in some time, but perhaps missing them was too strong a statement. He accepted them as part of my family.
“We should invite her and her husband to come and visit us in Jersey the next time there’s a show” Jon said thoughtfully as he hung up. “I’d like to do something special to thank them for taking care of things while we were away”
“That would be great and I’m sure they’d enjoy it, even if Cherie is a head banger” I laughed.
“I suppose I could learn some Ozzy” he said, only half serious. “We should go. The sooner we get outta here, the better”
We grabbed our bags and checked out at the front desk and Jon thanked the manager for excellent service during our stay. He also added an enormous tip onto the bill and I was glad as they had really taken great care of us and our families. Rick met us in the lobby and hoisted the bags into the limo. He’d be taking us to the airport, but he was planning to spend some more time in Florida since we wouldn’t be needing him for a while.
We said goodbye at the airport and I hugged him, thinking I had never said goodbye this often in my life. I thanked him for having made sure everything was perfect for my parents and my sister and that I knew it hadn’t been an easy task. There was a lot of running around and chauffeuring aside from the security detail and I knew that was outside his usual duties.
“It was my pleasure and actually a rather nice change of pace from guarding Jon’s backside” he teased and Jon gave him a punch in the arm.
“Seriously, thanks man. You did an amazing job and I know what a pain in the ass my mom can be sometimes and this was no exception. There’ll be something extra in your check, so have a great time here in Florida on me, okay?” Jon said, genuinely appreciative.
“Thanks, boss. Anytime” he smiled and with that we were on our way.
We settled into our seats and Vicky brought us coffee and informed me she had both lobster thermidore as well as chicken scampi stocked and ready when we got hungry. I wasn’t used to this sort of special attention from anyone besides Jon and I thanked her for remembering.
“What about me?” Jon asked petulantly, already thinking about lunch since we’d skipped breakfast.
Vicky assured him that his regular favorites were all on hand and offered to make him some hotdogs and eggs if he was hungry now. He really was used to being a pampered rock star and he thoroughly enjoyed his lifestyle. But he also took care of the people who took care of him and his loved ones.
Vicky went off to make him his meal and he sighed contentedly as he settled back in the seat, satisfied that he was still “king” in this castle. I couldn’t resist ribbing him a little about how easily he adapted to being spoiled.
“It’s all an act. I’m really just a simple man, but I play a rock star” he said as he flashed me that million dollar smile and I roared.
“What?” he said then, adopting his attempt at an innocent look and I howled louder.
He reached over and started to tickle me and I could barely breathe. He finally relented when I begged him to stop and swore my fealty to his highness. He seemed satisfied with that and reminded me about the penalty for disobedience and I bit my lip, trying hard not to laugh all over again.
“So, what did you think of my mom and dad?” he asked after Vicky served him his food.
I had been admittedly silent on the subject and that hadn’t escaped his notice. I had my opinion, but I’d been careful to avoid voicing it as I knew that Jon loved and respected his parents, but I wouldn’t lie to him either. He was too astute not to recognize that his mother’s behavior was not the best and had apologized for it several times to me as well as Rick. But still … she was his mom and this was a touchy subject.
“I thought your dad was a sweetheart and I really liked him a lot. I was surprised at how much you resemble him” I began, starting on safe ground.
“Most people compare me to my mother” he said in between bites.
“I could see you in her too, but your dad struck me as gentle and firm at the same time” I said, trying to acknowledge his comment while staying away from dangerous territory.
But Jon knew me too well. He was waiting and what I didn’t say spoke volumes. I was rarely silent on any subject and he sensed my discomfort, but he really wanted to know what I truly thought.
“It’s okay, babe, really. Tell me the truth and I promise I won’t take your head off” he prompted.
“Oh, Jon, I really didn’t like your mom a whole and she clearly didn’t care for me, but then she didn’t seem like she was very interested in getting to know me either” I blurted out, waiting to see how much he really wanted to hear what I thought.
I wished I’d found better words to express that, but there weren’t any. I doubted that calling her a self-centered, self-righteous, conceited bitch and a drunk would have gone over any better, even if it was closer to the mark. The truth was that her behavior had disturbed me greatly and I was hurt by her lack of interest in getting to know someone so important to the son she supposedly loved. Her attitude towards our marriage was no surprise and I expected that she wouldn’t approve, Wicca aside.
Jon had stopped eating and was looking directly at me, choosing his words. I felt a moment of panic and immediately regretted having said anything. I swallowed hard, hoping he would forgive me, but he’d asked me to be honest and I couldn’t take it back without being dishonest. The silence was deafening.
“I’m sorry. I wish I had a different impression but that’s how I felt” I said and he laid his hand on my arm to still me.
“I love my mother, but she acted like a real bitch and I’m the one who’s sorry. I make excuses for her, but I see how she is and I don’t like it. People compare me to her because I can be demanding and arrogant and I know it and I hope you’ll slap me if I ever get out of line the way she does at times. I don’t give a shit whether she likes you or not, I love you and you will always come first” he finished angrily.
His eyes were an icy blue and he was upset, but not with me. He realized far more than I’d thought and I was shocked that he saw her as his mirror. He could be stubborn and demanding at times too, but he was also infinitely tender and patient and perhaps Carol could be as well. I just hadn’t seen that in her.
“Jon, I will always try and get along with her because I love you and you love her. And maybe in time I’ll see the softer side in her too because that is what I see in you” I said finally.
“I appreciate that, baby. She isn’t always like that and she can be great with the kids and she does love me. She isn’t always selfish and rude, but if she ever treats you that way again I don’t expect you to keep quiet. Call her on it, or I will. You’re my wife and I expect her to treat you with respect” he said and he was done.
Vicky came to clear away the dishes and asked if there was anything else that we needed. She brought a fresh pot of coffee for me and Jon passed on the wine she offered him. I wondered if perhaps it was a conscious attempt to prove to himself that he was different from his mother.
“I love you, Jon, and it’ll be fine” I said as I squeezed his hand and he squeezed back.
“I love you too” he said as he closed his eyes.

The Sauna Part 144
Jon drew the drapes shut and we climbed into bed, shedding our clothes in a heap on the floor. I curled up against him, grateful to be able to dissolve in the warm strength of his embrace and turn off my brain for a little while. There were so many things to think about, but they could wait. All I needed to know right now was that I was here, safely nestled in Jon’s arms.
The afternoon faded into evening as we slept soundly, snugly cocooned away from the rest of the world. It was past seven when Jon woke, feeling refreshed and content. He looked at my sleeping form, lying peacefully beside him and smiled. His eyes lingered on my face as he lightly stroked my cheek. I opened my eyes, still heavy with sleep.
“I’m thinking we should probably eat something. Are you hungry, baby?” he asked, glancing at the clock beside the bed.
My stomach growled in answer to his question and I laughed. I actually was hungry, but I didn’t feel much like going out to dinner or dealing with any straggling fans that might still be lurking in the hotel.
“Can we do room service?” I asked hopefully.
“Just what I was thinking” he agreed, nodding his assent as he sat up and reached for a menu from the drawer in the nightstand.
We looked at the menu and made our selections, deciding on an antipasto salad and chicken Marsala. Jon called the front desk and ordered a bottle of red wine and a pot of coffee and moved to the edge of the bed to get up. I wrapped my arms around his waist, holding him there.
“Stay with me” I said beseechingly.
“I’ll be right back, I promise” he reassured me.
He went to the bathroom and flipped on the light and I could hear him relieving himself and washing his hands. He opened the drapes to reveal a shimmering full moon and sighed at the sight of the Goddess in all her brilliant glory. He grabbed his robe and brought it closer to the bed before climbing back in.
“Dinner in bed?” he whispered in my ear.
“Perfect” I agreed.
We snuggled together until dinner came and then we talked about the past few days. I was curious as to what Richie had said to the press and how the news of his engagement had sat with the fans. I was also feeling responsible for it after having told Elaine how Richie felt and I wasn’t proud of that. I wondered if Jon would blame me if it all went sour.
“Darlin’, they’re both adults and whatever happens now is up to them. You might have moved things along, but it was bound to happen regardless. Something had to give and for all we know this could be the greatest thing in the world for them both” Jon said wisely.
“I wish I could be as objective as you, but I just can’t seem to shake off the bad feeling I have about it” I confided.
“I know what you mean, honestly I do. I don’t like the way it all went down after the way she behaved either and I hope Richie didn’t make a mistake, but it’s out of our hands. Besides, I’ve got other things I’d rather dwell on” he hinted as he rubbed my thigh.
Jon always knew how to distract me when I was preoccupied and now was no different. The long nap and a good meal had rejuvenated him and I sensed that Lil’ Jon was ready to play. Richie and Lainie would have to figure things out on their own and Jon was right, there were better things for us to concentrate on.
I handed my plate to Jon and he reached across me to set it aside, rolling me onto my back as he climbed on top. I was reminded of the children’s game, ‘King of the Mountain’, as he sat there holding me captive.
“What’s so funny?” he wanted to know and I told him what I was thinking.
“Mmhhmm, captive huh? I rather like the sound of that” he said as he rubbed his chin.
“So, whatcha gonna do with me?” I teased my captor.
“Let me show you” he replied with a gleam in his eye.
Before I had a chance to respond he had flipped me around onto my belly and had my hands pinned behind me. I still wasn’t sure what was coming, but I was guessing I wouldn’t be complaining. Smack! I felt his hand slap my ass. And then again, crack! He’d caught me completely off guard.
“What the …!” I stammered.
“I just now remembered your suggestion from this morning” he cackled.
“But I was only kidding” I pleaded, catching my breath.
“Too late” he said as I felt him wind up to deliver the next blow.
I could still feel the sting from the first two as he walloped me again and I struggled to free myself, sort of. The truth was that I enjoyed the game as much as he did and I knew the only way I would get loose was when he decided to release me, so I played along.
“Please baby, I’ll behave …” I began as I felt his hand connect with my flesh.
“Who said I want you to behave?” he panted as he bent down to kiss my neck. “I like you when you’re naughty” he purred in my ear.
I shivered at the sound of his voice and the feel of his hot breath on my skin. His hand caressed the reddened area on my ass provocatively as I bit my lip and braced myself for another strike, but I couldn’t take much more and neither could he. His breathing was heavy and I could feel my own juices leaking out onto the sheets.
“Take me, Jon. I want you, I need you inside me” I begged, no longer playing.
That was all he needed to hear as he released his grip on my wrists and I twisted around beneath him. He covered my mouth with his and drove into me hard as I met his thrusts with my own. He caught my wrists in his hands as he pinioned me to the bed and nipped at my lips, trying to slow himself down. But I was already there and he let himself go as my spasms gripped his cock inside me.
“Oh baby!” he growled, his body shuddering his release as he collapsed on top of me.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and stroked his hair, damp with sweat. Our hearts were beating wildly and it took moments before I could breathe without gasping. I felt completely undone and totally satisfied; he filled me so completely. He raised his head and nuzzled me tenderly as his beard tickled my cheek.
“I love you so much” he said in a choked voice.
“Ditto” I grinned, cradling him against me as all the tension of the past few days ebbed away.
We would be heading home tomorrow for a few days to pack up the house, and the cats, and I was anxious to see the new hot tub, but for tonight it was just us. No shows, no family, no friends, no commitments and even no cats. And we were determined to make the most of it.

The Sauna Part 143
It seemed as though only minutes had passed when the wake up call came. Neither of us moved to answer the phone and we both groaned in unison. Whatever supernatural energy possessed us last night had deserted us this morning. The wake up call came again and this time Jon reached for the phone and knocked the receiver onto the floor.
“It’s seven-thirty, Mr. Bongiovi” said the voice on the phone.
“Thank you” Jon called out hoarsely.
“Is everything okay, sir? We must have a bad connection” the caller said pleasantly.
“We’re fine, just send up some coffee” Jon said, trying to speak louder and I laughed.
“Do you think coffee will be enough?” I wondered, tickling his ribs.
“Mercy, woman, don’t torture me now too” he laughed back. “But no, I think we need rocket fuel” he conceded.
Despite the physical exhaustion, he was awake now and forced himself to sit up. He ran his hands through his hair and sighed. He reached for the phone and hung up the receiver and turned to look at me.
“Shit, you look beautiful. It’s not fair, I don’t have the strength, baby” he said apologetically.
It was true. Jon was feeling every minute of his forty-four years as he stretched and tried to loosen the stiff muscles, wishing only that one particular muscle was as stiff as the rest. He gazed down at me, lying beside him in the bed, with my hair splayed all around me, framing my face. Shit, she looks like a wood nymph and I feel like the tin man, he thought to himself.
I was sore too and I was still sleepy, but I couldn’t seem to shake off the languorous feeling I had and I still wanted to screw his brains out one more time, but I knew I would pay a price later. I sat up and massaged his shoulders and his back, settling instead for the warmth of his body and the feel of his skin. We heard a slight rustling noise outside the door and then it was gone.
“Must be the coffee” he surmised, wishing it had been espresso at least.
“I’ll get it” I offered as I dragged myself out of bed and threw on my robe.
“C’mere” he said and I came to him.
He untied my robe and rested his head against my belly. His hands reached for my breasts and he groaned, feeling the hardened points of my nipples. His cock twitched in response, but it was only a momentary flicker before it faded again. He wanted me too, but his body would not cooperate.
“Aren’t you exhausted?” he asked, noticing the wetness between my legs.
“Hell yes, I’m pretty shot too. Once we get through breakfast and say goodbye we can come back and take a nap. I’m greedy, baby, I just wanna lie in bed with you all afternoon and keep you all to myself” I confessed, glad that we had the room one more night.
We showered and Jon shaved and I poured us each some coffee. We had a little time before we had to meet everyone downstairs. I pondered what to wear and I held up the two choices and Jon chose the deep brown skirt and the fawn colored top with fringe. He wore a brown leather shirt and his black pants and I nearly drooled as I admired how handsome he was.
“Be good now” he admonished me, seeing the twinkle in my eyes and he reminded me that our parents and my sister would be there just for good measure.
“Only if you promise to spank me later” I teased back and I was rewarded with a slap on the ass before we headed down for breakfast.
We met Tico and Eva in the hallway and walked to the elevator together. Eva looked gorgeous with her hair pinned up and was wearing a crimson blouse with her jeans. Tico was dressed casually and I noticed what a handsome pair they made. I would miss them both after this morning and I was getting weary of saying goodbye.
We stopped at Richie’s room and knocked, but there was no answer. Jon shrugged, assuming they would find us later to say goodbye and none of us were in the mood for any more drama today. We reached the elevator and proceeded to ride down to the first floor where the breakfast bar was located.
We spotted Jon’s parents and my family seated at a big table by the window and to our surprise, Lainie and Richie were there already too and I noticed they were holding hands. Jon held my chair, choosing the empty seat near my dad, and Eva and Tico took their seats beside Jon’s folks. Carol seemed pretty quiet this morning and I guessed she was hungover, but I was glad she was at least a little more subdued.
Linda and Pat raved about how much they’d enjoyed the show and thanked Jon again for inviting them and making their stay and the trip so comfortable. My mom said how talented Jon was and seemed to actually remember the show and I was a bit encouraged as it seemed like this had all been good for her. Elaine looked a little agitated and fidgeted in her seat as we made small talk and I could tell she was dying to say something.
“So, what did everyone do after the show last night?” I asked, giving her the opening I could tell she was waiting for.
“Richie and I got engaged” she beamed, her face shining with delight.
I was a bit alarmed and not entirely certain this was a wise decision for either of them and I felt Jon’s hand tighten on my knee. He gracefully offered his congratulations and I echoed his words, but I saw Eva shoot me a look of concern. Tico stood up to shake Richie’s hand and everyone politely wished them well. Carol called to the waiter and asked for champagne so we could toast the happy couple while I bit my lip.
Elaine told the story gushingly about how Richie had proposed and then shared their news with the press after we’d all left last night. I could see Jon was hurt that Richie hadn’t told him first, but Richie explained it had all happened so fast and that Jon had disappeared before he could break away from the fans to tell him privately. I looked at Lainie who seemed genuinely happy, but I still wasn’t so sure. I thought it was odd that she hadn’t said a word to me during the show.
Breakfast dragged on and I kept checking the clock on the wall and waiting for Rick to come and collect my folks. I knew they were getting anxious to get home too and I breathed a sigh of relief as I saw Rick appear in the doorway. Jon yawned and I nudged him gently and I caught the look of relief in his eyes too as he motioned to Rick.
We said our goodbyes and I hugged my sister and Pat and kissed my mom before turning to my father. He shook Jon’s hand and I noted the look that passed between them. I was pleased to see the mutual respect that had developed and I hugged my dad.
“Take care of each other” he said softly and I nodded silently, holding back the tears in my eyes.
“Don’t be a stranger” he said finally to both of us after taking his leave from the rest of the folks at the table and with that they were gone.
Richie and Elaine were leaving at noon and Tico and Eva were heading out as well. They had a home in Florida too and invited us to come and visit anytime we wanted. The only ones left were Jon’s parents and I could see that the champagne had revived Carol who was now gaining momentum.
“Johnny, why don’t you come back to the house and stay with us for a while” she ventured but Jon shook his head no.
“Not this trip, mom. We’ve been gone almost two weeks and we need to get home. I know Trish is anxious to see her kids” he said affectionately, covering my hand with his.
“You have children?” Carol asked, a bit surprised.
“Not actually. Jon means the cats who are like my kids” I explained.
Carol made a face and I could see she didn’t feel that was a good reason to hurry home, but I was too tired to care. She had made little effort to get to know me during this visit whereas Jon’s dad had been warm and friendly. I wondered suddenly if Jon had even discussed my taking over the fan club, but decided it wasn’t my place to bring it up. Jon stretched and yawned again and that prompted his dad to suggest that it was time to go, but Carol was having none of it.
“Isn’t it exciting that Richie and that lovely Lainie got engaged? I’m so glad that he found such a nice girl to settle down with and that they aren’t planning to just shack up together” she said in a honeyed tone.
I visibly stiffened at Carol’s remark which I was certain she meant as a jab at me and Jon. I bit back the impulse to inform her that Jon and I were already married, but I knew it wasn’t my place to share this and I realized that it was likely to sound like a petty retort on my part. It was the perfect opportunity however for Jon to tell her and I looked at him sharply.
“Mom, Dad, there’s something Trish and I wanted to share with you too, but this is the first chance we’ve had to be alone with both of you” he began, having gotten the meaning in the look I gave him.
It’s now or never, Jon thought to himself. He’d dreaded this moment and really had subconsciously avoided it, but he wasn’t going to avoid it any longer. It was bad enough when he and Dot had eloped, but this would be far worse and he knew it. They won’t accept this the way that Trish’s parents did. Nope, not my Catholic parents, he thought, but no matter how they responded, it was something he was proud of and nothing either of his parents said was going to tarnish the beauty of what we shared.
“What is it, Jonny?” his dad prompted as Carol took another drink, steeling herself against the news she knew she didn’t want to hear.
“Trish and I were married before we left New York. It wasn’t a traditional ceremony, but rather a highly spiritual one where we were handfasted and pledged ourselves to each other in the site of the God and Goddess” he finished.
“What on earth are you talking about? What nonsense is this?” Carol demanded.
“Jon, I don’t understand. Were you married in a church? Are you saying that you eloped again?” his father wanted to know.
My heart went out to him and I almost wished despite myself that he hadn’t told them now. I could see this was going to be a much bigger issue than I had thought and I reached under the table and grabbed his hand for support. Whatever comes, I’m here with you baby, I tried to say with the gesture. I felt him squeeze my hand in silent response.
“Trish is Wiccan and the handfasting ceremony is more binding than marriage and truly means so much more to me too now that I have come to understand and embrace Wicca myself. You know how I have always felt about the Catholic Church and religion in general. It never worked for me and it never inspired me, but this does. I have finally found a spirituality that I believe in and I have Trish to thank for that as well. I found my faith” he finished as he turned and looked lovingly at me.
If Carol had been a gypsy, the evil eye she gave me would have cursed me for eons. I squeezed Jon’s hand now and it was his support I needed at the moment. If Carol merely disliked me before, her feelings were now etched in stone as her eyes burned through me.
“Jonny, I didn’t raise you to become some pagan idol worshipper. What do you think Father Bob will say about all this nonsense? You’re a grown man, how can you fall for such a thing?” Carol said in an icy tone that almost sounded as though she had suddenly sobered up.
“I don’t give a frig what father Bob has to say or what he thinks, for that matter. I never did and I’m not about to start. Trish is my wife and you need to accept that” Jon replied and the steely look in his eyes was one I had never seen before.
“Son, I know you’ve never adopted Catholicism, but we don’t know anything about this religion. How could you possibly know that much yourself?” his father replied in a more reasonable tone of voice.
“Jon has actually done a good deal of research and reading on Wicca and while there is always room for growth and study, he genuinely does understand it in a very rich and meaningful way. We would not have been handfasted if I thought he wasn’t serious or was doing this just to please me” I tried to explain.
“In fact, dad, the handfasting was my idea and I had to prove to Trish that I understood it and that I really wanted this before she would agree” Jon added.
“Can this marriage be annulled? Jonny, you will be damned to hell!” Carol wailed.
“I have no intention of annulling my marriage and I don’t even believe in hell! I love Trish and she loves me and that should be good enough for you!” he shot back.
“Jonny, give your mother and I some time to digest this, okay? This is a lot for us to swallow. If you both love one another and you are committed to each other, even if not by marriage in a church, then that’s enough for me right now. I want you to be happy and if this makes you happy, then I can be happy for you. For both of you” he corrected.
“John! How can you sit there and give them your blessing! This is outrageous! As far as I’m concerned, any ceremony that wasn’t sanctioned by a priest or a justice of the peace at least has no meaning and is no marriage and some day you’ll wake up and realize what you’ve done and you’ll beg my forgiveness and God’s forgiveness!” Carol proclaimed from her pulpit.
Her arrogance was astounding to me. To think that Jon would someday beg her forgiveness was just the epitome of self-righteousness. I had struggled to give her the benefit of the doubt as she was Jon’s mother, but this was too much. I would treat her respectfully for Jon’s sake and I would keep my opinions to myself, but at that moment I felt nothing but loathing for his mother.
“C’mon, Carol, let’s head home. The kids look exhausted and I’m sure they’d like a little time alone together and I think we need some time to talk and absorb all this” he urged.
“But I’m not ready to go! I need to talk some sense into him!” she protested.
Jon’s father looked irritated and Jon looked exasperated. His mother seemed oblivious to anyone’s needs but her own and I was beginning to reach the end of my tether too. Carol made no move to get up and reached to refill her glass of champagne, but Jon’s dad stopped her.
“Carol, that’s enough. It’s time to go” he said sternly and she looked like a petulant child.
“Mom, dad’s right. We didn’t get much sleep last night and we’re exhausted. About the only thing I’m up for is a nap, not a debate or an argument” Jon said, punctuating the statement with another yawn.
“When will we see you again, Jonny?” she said finally as we all rose to leave.
“I don’t know, mom. Trish and I have some things we need to attend to before we go on holiday, but I’ll talk to you soon” he said to placate her as he hugged her goodbye.
“I’m so pleased to have had a chance to meet you both and I want you to know how much I love your son and that I will do everything I can to make sure that he is happy” I added, only half lying as I did love Jon and I would do anything to make him happy.
Jon’s dad gave me a hug and a kiss and said he was glad to see that Jon was in such good hands and that he was happy that we had found each other as he hadn’t seen his son so content in a long time. I thanked him for that and I realized that our news had been a difficult pill to swallow for him too. Carol turned sharply on her heel and dismissed me, but she hugged Jon as though she was saving him from the devil himself. I saw the look that passed between Jon and his dad as he gently ushered Carol towards the door.
“I’m sorry, baby, but mom can be difficult sometimes. No one has ever been good enough in her eyes, so don’t take it personally. Mom isn’t the Holy Roller she was acting like she is; it was just something to hold against you as no one will ever be good enough for me. My dad thinks you’re great and he’ll accept things because he loves me and he sees that we love each other” he said reassuringly as he pulled me against his chest.
Maybe Jon was right. As badly as I felt this discussion had gone, I could see from Jon’s mellow mood now that it hadn’t been as bad as he’d anticipated. He didn’t appear worried and perhaps, in time, his mother would come to accept me as his wife, but right now I wasn’t so sure. We might manage to get along for his sake, but I doubted that we’d ever develop any fondness for each other. But I didn’t care to dwell on it at the moment as I was fading fast. Last night’s revels were finally catching up with me.
“Let’s go take a nap” I said sleepily, my head dropping against his shoulder.
“You read my mind” Jon agreed as he echoed my yawn.
“It’s seven-thirty, Mr. Bongiovi” said the voice on the phone.
“Thank you” Jon called out hoarsely.
“Is everything okay, sir? We must have a bad connection” the caller said pleasantly.
