The Sauna Part 57

Jon woke shortly after when he felt soft footsteps on his thigh and heard a low rumbling coming from that direction. He raised his head slightly to see what was creating the disturbance and saw the psycho cat from earlier was attempting to settle in between us and appeared to be marching. He felt a light thud near his head and another furry beast appeared, purring loudly like a motor near his left ear. So far Floyd had not returned, so he felt relatively safe and drifted back to sleep, his ears filled with the continued humming of two cats bedding down for the night.

The sun was streaming in through the window when I woke in the morning. It was still early, only six-thirty, but it was breakfast time for the kids and Eddie was reminding me of that fact. He swatted my head repeatedly and I lazily brushed his paw away until he decided on another tactic. He screamed loudly in Jon’s ear and that woke him with a start.

“What the…?” he muttered, orienting himself to the situation as Eddie rubbed his chin on his head.

“He’s hungry” I smiled.

Having accomplished his mission, now that we were both awake, Eddie walked across Jon’s chest and lay down on my shoulder and kissed me in the way that cats do.

“Good morning, sweetie. Mommy will be up in a minute” I said, patting his head and rubbing his chin. “Good morning, love” I added, turning to look at Jon. He had a bemused grin on his face, observing Eddie’s morning ritual.

“Morning, babe” Jon replied, leaning to kiss me and getting Eddie face instead as he greeted Jon with a head bump.

“Well, at least this one doesn’t seem to hate me” he said, scratching him behind the ears.

“Eddie’s a loverboy. And I see Zeke has overcome his shyness” I noted, peering down at the familiar site of Zeke stretched out between us.

“He’s been here most of the night. I woke up when he came in and the big one was here too, purring right by my head” he shared.

“And I see you’re still alive and in one piece! I’ll be sure to let Eva know that you survived. How are your allergies? Did you remember the Zyrtec last night?” I said as I yawned.

“Nope, I forgot to take it. My eyes are itchy, but not awful. I’ll take it when I get up” he said, stretching lazily.

“Speaking of that, I better get up and feed the monsters” I said, helping Eddie off my shoulder.

“And are you planning to feed me too, or do just the cats get breakfast?” he teased.

“I suppose I’ll feed you too, but there’s probably not much of a selection until we go shopping. I can probably find enough for omelettes. Is that okay?” I offered.

Jon grinned and I got up and went to the kitchen, feeding the cats first and starting the coffee. There were eggs in the fridge and cheese, but little else that was usable besides a can of spam I had for emergencies. I started making breakfast and Jon sauntered in, completely naked. I stopped beating the eggs and looked at him.

“Breakfast au naturale?” I asked, raising my eyebrows.

“Didn’t unpack yet, but I’ll go throw on some clothes if you like” he smirked.

“That won’t be necessary” I replied, forcing myself to look away and pay attention to the food on the stove.

“What else are you making there? I smell meat” he commented, walking over to the stove and slipping his arms around me and pawing at the robe I’d thrown on.

“Fried spam” I laughed, thinking it was probably not the delicacy he was accustomed to usually. I slapped the hand that was attempting to loosen the belt of my robe and ordered him to go sit down.

“I haven’t had that since I was a kid! I love that shit, but only if it’s fried. It’s pretty nasty otherwise” he said, surprising me. But then again, he wasn’t fussy. He seemed grateful for anything I was willing to cook. And that was a good thing, since my repertoire was rather limited and I hated cooking.

“I like it too, actually” I admitted, adding the eggs in a separate pan.

In a few minutes, breakfast was ready and I sat down with Jon at the kitchen table and we ate as the cats milled about looking for scraps. Beowulf, my skinny senior citizen, got a piece of spam which she took greedily from my hand. We chatted a bit and I noticed that Jon really did enjoy the spam and ate every bite.

“Are you full? I could make toast too?” I wondered, unsure if I was feeding him enough as I wasn’t used to breakfast myself much.

“No, darlin’, that was great. More coffee?” he offered, pouring himself some and filling my cup as I nodded.

“So, what’s today’s agenda?” he asked with a naughty look.

“Well, we could go to Zoar Valley later, since you’re already dressed for it.”

“What? That gets my vote if we can go there naked!” Jon said, looking surprised and pleased.

“Zoar is rather famous as a nudist area. The guy who willed the land to the County was a dedicated nudist and made a provision for a section there to remain “clothing optional” in his will. It’s a really beautiful place too. But I need to do a couple things around here before we go anywhere” I explained.

I was mentally running over the list of things that needed attention before starting back to work after a week off. And the house needed vacuuming and cleaning generally and there was laundry and…the list went on.

“Is there anything I can do to help? Whaddya need, darlin’?” he offered.

“Would you be willing to go to the store in town and pick up some groceries if I make a list? I need to check messages and email, get some things ready for work, do some laundry and unpack and clean out a space for your clothes. And the house is filthy” I said, reviewing all the chores that needed doing.

“Sure. I can do that! And I can clean tomorrow when you’re at work. I’ll make myself useful. I want you to keep me around” Jon said softly.

I was struck by the vulnerability his comment showed beneath the teasing tone. I wasn’t the only one who was wondering how we would blend such different lifestyles to make it work. He really wanted to be a part of my world. And it had been a very long time since I had had anyone in my life who wanted to share responsibilities. I reached across the table and took his hand in mine, looking straight into his eyes, and the look I saw on his face told me he meant every word. I stopped myself from asking whether he was sure about this and trusted him instead.

“Thank you. It means the world to me that you’re willing to share the mundane stuff in my life with me. You can’t imagine how much I want to have a partner as well as a lover” I said seriously, really laying my cards on the table.

“So do I” Jon said, serious now too. “I want to be more than the visiting boyfriend. I wanna be your man in every way. And I want you to be my partner too. I behaved like a wretch at the game yesterday and ignored what you said about Steph. I shut you out of the most important part of my life, my kids, and I was more angry with myself for that even than for blowing it with Steph. I am so sorry. I’m possessive about the ones I love, but I will never do that to you again. Can you give me a chance to prove myself?”

I had tears in my eyes now. This had been in the back of my mind and now that he’d said it too I was filled with a sense of relief. I felt pure joy at the realization that I could truly share my life with someone and not just include them in it. I came around and sat on Jon’s naked lap and hugged him. No words were needed to tell him how I felt. He hugged me back and whispered in my ear.

“I love you, babe. But if we stay here like this much longer I won’t be responsible if we get side-tracked before we get the work done!” he said, toying with the belt on my robe again.

The Sauna Part 56

Jon’s tongue slid down my throat as his hand slid under my shirt and I felt Floyd jump off the bed in utter disgust. Just as well. He really didn’t need to see what was coming.

His fingers slipped over my breasts, sending shivers down my spine as he eased my tank top off over my head and lowered his mouth to my nipple. His soft lips were moist as he drew the taut flesh in, nipping gently at the tip with his teeth. I ran my hands under his shirt, needing to feel the bare skin and hard muscle of his chest and he indulged me further by dragging the t-shirt over his head. I reached for his chest, my palms resting lightly as I drank in the sight of him poised above me in my own bed. I caught my breath and murmured my appreciation.

Jon enjoyed my watching him and treated me to a more intimate view as he unbuttoned his jeans and pushed them over his hips, freeing his stiffened shaft to dangle tantalizingly above me. I reached for him, but he pulled back, kicking off his clothes and freeing me of my jeans as well.

“Now I can make love to you properly” Jon whispered softly, easing himself back on top of me now that we were free of all the clothes that had been in the way.

We took our time, enjoying the sensation of skin on skin as our naked bodies rubbed against each other. Our legs tangled together as we kissed and I ran my palms along his sides, savoring the feel of his smooth skin while our tongues played leisurely, licking and twirling like dancers moving to an inner rhythm.

We shifted slightly, moving apart to lie side by side. He cupped my breast in his hand, feeling its fullness as his thumb flicked lightly across the tip. I took his penis in my hand, stroking it lovingly and caressing the engorged tip with my index finger as he rolled onto his back and I straddled his legs. I bent my head to taste him, swirling my tongue around the tip as I stroked the inside of his thighs. His fingers caught in my hair as I took in his shaft more fully, bathing it in the warm wetness of my throat. He groaned loudly, struggling not to succumb to my attentions.

“Come here, babe. I wanna make love to you until morning” he said heavily, his voice thick with passion.

I released him gently and crawled higher, replacing my mouth with my pussy, drenched now with desire as I lowered myself enough to slide across him. I rocked back and forth, teasing us both, but not allowing him to enter me. His fingers found the cheeks of my ass, clenching it tightly as he held me still, catching his breath.

Gripping my hips, he lifted me up and slid me onto his cock, slippery now from my teasing, and held me tightly to him as he rolled us onto our sides and began a gentle rocking motion that built the need for release. He sucked my lower lip into his mouth gently as he stroked my cheek with his finger before licking my neck along my jaw. I raised my leg to encircle his hips, and he penetrated deeper inside my center.

I felt his warm breath on my shoulder as he pulled me more tightly to him and my fingers traced the hardened muscles in his arm. I kissed the top of his head tenderly as our bodies fused in a slow, but steady rocking motion. He slipped his hand between us and tenderly stroked my clit, intensifying my pleasure. I arched my head back as he ran his tongue along my throat and I shuddered against him. I felt the orgasm begin to unfold, slow and delicious. My body stiffened until the final moment of release when I melted into him, clenching his cock inside me like a vice.

“Oh, baby, you feel so good” I moaned.

He continued the relentless motion of his hips and I felt the longest, most intense climax of my life. It had a beginning but seemingly no end and I bit my lip hard to keep from screaming. I was swimming in a sea of sensations, losing all sense of myself as he turned me onto my back, covering me with his body. I buried my face in his shoulder and dug my nails harder into his flesh, as the pace quickened and I felt him tensing, nearing his own release.

He raised his head to look at me and smile just before his eyes closed and he yielded to the force of his own explosive blast which I felt deep inside me. His body stiffened for a moment and he held himself above me as my thighs clenched tightly, pressing us as close as two people could be. He collapsed then and we rolled across the bed, landing on the opposite side in a tight, sweaty embrace.

“Holy shit, baby, that was amazing” he chuckled, smacking my ass for emphasis before he rolled onto his back.

“You’re not kidding. I never…” I began, but stopped, speechless. I looked at him and he looked at me and we both broke into giggles, surprised at ourselves after making love already only hours before.

“We should write a book” Jon mused.

“Yeah, but who’d believe us? Hell, I don’t even believe it and I was there!” I laughed harder now.

He drew me into his arms, and kissed me tenderly and I rested my head on his chest, snuggling in close against him.

“You really do amaze me, babe” he whispered into my hair.

“And you, my love, are a God” I sighed and he chuckled with satisfaction.

“You realize it’s only nine-thirty?” he asked, looking across at the clock. “It’s just barely dark, but I’m wiped out and I don’t wanna move. Should we hit the lights and call it a night?” he asked.

He laughed to himself quietly when my only reply was a soft snore. I had fallen sound asleep as we lay there, completely spent and utterly satisfied. Jon shifted a little to reach the chain on the only lamp and pulled the cord. The light dimmed and he pulled up the covers, cradling me in his arms, as he drifted off contentedly too.

The Sauna Part 55

We scrambled to pull on our clothes just as the plane was landing. Vicky came round to check on us and I was sitting beside Jon on the couch looking very demure, albeit a bit disheveled.

“Was it a rough ride?” she asked, eyeing me suspiciously.

“No, not at all” I squeaked as Jon chuckled and winked at her and I blushed.

We exited the plane and made our way to the rental car counter and Jon thanked God that the suitcase was on wheels. He wrinkled his nose when we found the only car available was a Kia Rio, but we were desperate and the counter girl reminded us it was Saturday night. We took it and waited outside the terminal for them to bring the car around. Jon threw the suitcase and bag into the trunk and I walked to the driver’s side.

“Where are you going?” he asked, sincerely perplexed.

“To get in the car” I responded, thinking the answer was obvious.

“Oh, no, I’m driving” he said seriously, guiding me back to the other side.

“But you don’t know the area” I argued.

“Neither do you, remember?” he flashed me that blazing smile and I relented. He was right. I could navigate better if I didn’t have to deal with the traffic. He held the door and I climbed in.

“Okay, so where are we going?” he said looking at me for directions. I looked at the signs and pointed, taking my best guess. We started on our way and I realized almost immediately that I’d chosen the wrong option.

“Uhmmm, I think we should turn around” I said once we got onto the street and could pull in and turn around.

“You weren’t kidding, were you?” he said, still not quite believing I could be that confused, but laughing.

“I’m serious. We are going the wrong way, I think. I’m directionally impaired and totally dependent on Mapquest” I answered truthfully.

“Okay, okay. I believe you” he said, pulling into the nearest parking lot to turn around.

Once headed in the right direction, things seemed more familiar and I was able to get my bearings. I pointed out various places as we drove, relaxing once we were out of the immediate vicinity of the airport and turned on the radio. I fidgeted with the dial until I found a decent station and Aerosmith came on.

We hit a long stretch of highway and I dug out my cell phone and called my sister to tell her we were back in town. She invited us for dinner, but I explained we had eaten before we left New Jersey and that I was anxious to see my boys and promised I’d call her Sunday or Monday. She agreed to call dad and let him know Jon and I had arrived safely.

I snuggled up against Jon and he slid an arm around me as we drove toward the Southtowns. Eventually we got off the thruway and were driving through the country and the radio began to lose reception in the hills on the reservation. Jon remarked on the condition of some of the homes and I explained that there were some very poor areas on the Res. He also noticed the main business there, the smoke shops.

“We can stop at the one near home, they’re the cheapest and they take credit cards” I explained. “It’s only another fifteen minutes from here.”

We came to the last Smoke shop on the Res and I directed Jon to pull in and we went inside. He was shocked at how cheap the prices were and loaded up on several cartons and I did the same.

He pulled out his credit card and the owner looked at him and then at me.

“It’s okay. He really is Jon Bon Jovi” I smiled.

“As long as you vouch for him, Trish” the owner nodded, looking at Jon who clearly wasn’t accustomed to depending on someone else to verify his identity. The owner knew me for years and for once it was my turn to have some influence.

“We’re almost in Gowanda” I reassured him. And in another five minutes we were pulling into my driveway.

We parked in back of the house and I sighed. We were home. And here I was coming home with Jon Bon Jovi. Hell, it was beginning to feel very surreal!

Jon got out of the car and looked around. “Wow, this is beautiful! And so secluded. No neighbors? This has such possibility…” he said with a wicked smirk as he slipped his arm about my waist and drew me to him.

“Now, stop that” I said, not really resisting as he slipped his tongue between my lips.

Just then I heard an insistent “meow” and glanced at the kitchen window. There was Eddie, my most precious orange baby, staring right at me with a petulant look. Jon heard it too and followed my gaze.

“Uh-oh, looks like I have competition” he teased.

“It’s Eddie! Come on in first and meet the boys. I can show you the yard and all tomorrow!” I said, pulling him towards the door, anxious now to greet my cats.

I opened the back door and we walked into the kitchen and Eddie rolled on the floor, waiting for his belly rub. Zeke came running into the kitchen and took one look at Jon and disappeared like lightening as he was terrified of strangers. Soon, they all began making their entrance and I introduced Jon to each one, except Zeke, who’d gone off to hide and sulk. Floyd sniffed at Jon and walked away, not impressed with my rock star boyfriend and Jon laughed.

“So which one do I need to worry about punishing me for keeping mommy away?” he asked, looking a little suspicious as four of the five cats milled about us.

“Just Floyd, really. He’s the most jealous and he’s been known to pee in other people’s shoes if he doesn’t like them” I admitted, looking at Jon’s shoes on the floor where he’d taken them off.

“Seriously? Shit” he said, picking his shoes off the floor and holding them protectively.

I took his shoes from him and put them in a closet for safe-keeping as I tried to explain rather than acknowledge that Floyd was spoiled and got away with murder.

“Floyd’s the oldest boy and he’s very possessive. I got him just after my divorce and he was used to having me all to himself for a long time. Don’t mess with him and whatever you do, don’t touch his butt. He’ll bite” I cautioned.

“Will he bite if I touch your butt?” he grinned, testing him by rubbing my backside.

“He might, but I won’t” I said, leaning into him for a kiss.

“This is Beowulf, the only girl in the bunch. She’s nearly seventeen and will love you to death if you pet her once. She loves men. And this is Opie, the friendliest of the boys and the head cat. Just remember he’s in charge and you’ll get along just fine. And last, this is my baby, Eddie” I said, picking him up for Jon to pet. Eddie wrapped his little paws around my neck as he always did and hugged me.

“What about that wild one that went tearing out of here the minute he laid eyes on me?” he asked as he rubbed Eddie’s chin. I was impressed he remembered with so many to keep track of.

“That was Zeke. He’s a momma’s boy and he’s petrified right now. But he’ll come around after he gets used to hearing your voice. He’ll be in bed with us tonight, I guarantee you” I said, watching the reaction on his face out of the corner of my eye.

“So that’s why the stuffed cat stayed on the bed? To gradually wear down my resistance?” he asked, nudging closer to me.

“Yep. I figured I needed to break you in slowly” I smiled.

“I’d better pop that Zyrtec now, babe” Jon commented.

“I’ve got plenty if you need some. I’m allergic to cats too” I laughed as he looked at me and shook his head.

“I can see I’ll get no sympathy from you” he groaned. “I’ll go get our bags.”

He returned with the bags and I pointed in the direction of the bedroom while I got some fresh food and water for the cats. I heard a loud “What the fuck!” coming from the bedroom, followed by a crash and went to investigate, as a startled Zeke came tearing into the kitchen.

“What the fuck!” Jon said again, sitting on the bed and staring at me.

“What happened? I saw Zeke come racing out of here…” I asked, noting the lamp lying on the floor.

“I set the bags down and the noise surprised him, I guess. He was under the bed and bolted out so fast he knocked me right over onto the bed! I never saw anything move that fast! Holy shit!” Jon said, still looking rather startled.

“Awww, poor Zeke! He thought the bedroom was a safe place since no one ever comes in here besides me. He didn’t expect to see you” I laughed as I picked up the lamp and assessed the room for other signs of damage. “Are you okay, love? You look as frightened as Zeke!” I said seriously.

“Yeah, I landed on the bed. I don’t even know how the lamp fell. It all happened so fast” he said, still looking stunned.

The look on his face struck me as hilarious at the moment and I doubled over with laughter. He was wide-eyed and completely innocent looking and it was the first time I saw him truly caught off guard by something he hadn’t anticipated. I could imagine how he must have looked as a little boy, trying to tell his mom that he had no idea how that baseball went through the window.

“I’m so glad you find this amusing. Your cat nearly gave me a heart attack and you’re thoroughly enjoying it. C’mere, I’ll teach you to laugh at me!” he said, his lips curving into that familiar mischievous half-smile as he reached for me. I tumbled onto the bed laughing as he hauled me across his lap and swatted my backside with his hand.

I pretended to struggle and shriek for help as he spanked me playfully and I noticed the hardening bulge beneath me when he stopped abruptly.

“Uh-oh” he said, his hand in mid air.

I looked up then to see Floyd, my protector, standing on the foot of the bed, glaring at Jon.

I giggled as Jon attempted to soothe Floyd by patting him on the head and saying “nice kitty”.

“Do you think he’s buying it?” he whispered in my ear.

“Not for a minute” I said, catching my breath as I turned and sat up in Jon’s lap. I put my arms around his neck and kissed him hard on the mouth.

“Forget the cat” I growled in his ear as I pulled him down on top of me in the bed. And Jon didn’t argue.

The Sauna Part 54

“So, Chickie & Pete’s?” Jon asked after we’d finished our happy dance.

“Yes!” Stephanie and I said in unison.

“Richie, are you coming, man?” Jon asked, turning to him.

“You kidding? Of course!” he replied.

We exited by way of the field so Jon had a chance to thank all the players and the coach. We found the limo waiting and headed off for an early dinner at Chickie & Pete’s.

When we arrived we were immediately taken to a table they must have been holding for us. The place was crowded, but no one made a fuss when we came in.

“The usual?” the waitress asked knowingly and Jon nodded, handing me a menu.

“We always get lobster pizza and crab fries” Steph explained. “But everything here is good.”

“That sounds good to me. I was just wondering if they had fried clams? I haven’t had them in ages” I said, looking at the menu and spying them. The waitress returned with drinks and Jon added fried clams to the menu.

“Anything else, babe?” he asked.

Steph added onion rings and I added a salad and the waitress scurried off to place our order.

The food arrived quickly and the conversation died as we dug in, each with our own order of crab fries and a pizza to share. Between the four of us there wasn’t a scrap of food left on the table.

“Oh my God, I’m stuffed, but that was awesome!” I said after I’d finished the last mouthful.

“Me too” Steph said.

“No ice cream on the way home?” Jon asked, catching Steph’s eye.

“I always have room for ice cream!” she responded enthusiastically.

“Hey man, could you drop me off at the airport on the way home?” Richie asked.

“No problem, you heading back to California?” Jon asked.

“Yep, but I’ll go for ice cream if you’re buying!” Richie teased back.

We all headed out together and Jon paid the bill. It was nice that the tensions had eased and everyone was relaxed after a belly full of good food. We chatted in the limo until we reached Barnacle Bob’s and piled out, ready for dessert. It was a warm evening and we all sat on the beach licking our cones and listening to the cry of the seagulls overhead. Stephanie asked me some questions about Buffalo and whether we had beaches there and I told her about Beaver Island and Canada and Jon told her my story about feeding the seagulls.

“Dad, can we get some fries? Please? I want to try that” she pleaded and Jon handed her some money to go and get some fries. She came back with a large order and looked at me expectantly.

“C’mon, let’s feed the birds” she said, excited.

We stood a little ways away from Jon and Richie and I showed her how to attract the gulls and coach them to take the fries from your hand. We were having a great time when all of a sudden I heard “Hey!” and turned to look and see what happened. Richie was laughing hysterically and we quickly realized why. One of the seagulls had deposited a present on Jon’s knee as it flew over his head and we broke into peals of laughter at the expression on Jon’s face. He looked up and pouted and I so wished for a camera at that moment. We quickly went through our supply of fries and ambled back to where the guys were waiting.

“Wow! Did you see it dad? They took them right out of my hand!” Steph said, and Jon ruffled her hair.

“Yeah, kiddo, I saw it. Spose we’ll never get outta here from now on without buying food for the gulls, huh?” he said, feigning a groan. Steph nodded as we made our way back to the limo where Rick and the driver were chatting outside.

“Ready, boss? Where to?” he asked and Jon gave instructions to drop Steph off first and then head to the airport. We piled in the limo and headed for the house. As we drove in the driveway, I took a long look at the place and thought how sad it must be for Jon to give up his home. It was beautiful, just like the pictures I’d seen, but more impressive up close. Steph said goodbye to me and Richie and hesitated before she turned to walk up to the house.

“I’m glad he chose you” she whispered hurriedly in my ear and ran off as Jon walked her up to the door. Richie and I waited in the car and watched them disappear through the door.

“I’m so relieved things turned out as well as they did” I breathed, sighing heavily.

“Yeah, I hear you. Jon can be so stubborn sometimes, but he usually does the right thing in the end” he smiled.

“Thanks for talking to him, Richie. Whatever you said got through” I said, grateful for Richie’s common sense and involvement.

Jon returned and we proceeded to head to the airport, talking about the change in Steph’s behavior, but avoiding discussion of the events precipitating it. We arrived at the airport and dropped Richie off at his terminal and drove out to where Jon’s plane was waiting in a private area. Rick unloaded our bags and followed us to the plane, carrying them up the stairs and stowing them away.

“Call me, man, when you’re back or if you need something. Have a good time” Rick said to Jon as they shook hands. Then Rick turned to me and gave me a hug. “Take good care of our boy” he whispered. “I know you will” he grinned. I nodded and grinned back.

We settled down in the plush leather seats and I was glad to be alone with Jon once more and glad to be headed home. Vicky, the stewardess, introduced herself and Jon introduced me and asked for a couple glasses of wine which she brought promptly and asked if we wanted a snack.

“Hell, no, we’re stuffed!” Jon laughed.

The plane started down the runway. As we settled back and relaxed it occurred to me that we had no way of getting from the airport to my house once the plane landed. I had no limo at my disposal and it was really too late to call anyone to pick us up at the last minute.

“Shit!” I said suddenly realizing the predicament.

“What’s wrong, babe?” Jon asked. “Did we forget something?”

“I have no way to get us from the airport to my house and it’s too late to call anyone for a ride” I explained. “I’m over an hour from the airport. I‘ll call my sister and see if she can pick us up.”

“Don’t worry, babe. I was planning to rent a car when we get there so I’ve got wheels if I need them while you’re working. Relax.” he said, placing his hand on my arm as I rummaged through my purse for the cell phone.

“Are you sure? I’ve never rented a car before. Is it that easy?” I asked.

“Yeah, it’s no problem. We’ll see what they have available when we land” he replied, stroking my arm soothingly. The gesture had an arousing effect as his fingers ran up and down the underside of my forearm and he smiled a lazy smile at me.

“Uhmmm, Jon, I’m not sure I know how to get home from the airport” I said, staring at his fingers and feeling rather embarrassed.

“What? You’re kidding, right?” he asked in disbelief.

“I think I can figure it out, probably, hopefully, but I always get lost and so I get a ride” I admitted sheepishly. “I really suck at finding my way around.”

“You do know where you live, right?” he said, tilting my head to face him.

“You’re a real smartass. Yes, I know where I live. It’s just that the airport confuses me. Don’t say I didn’t warn you if we end up lost somewhere.”

“Baby, we’ll figure it out. Just relax” he chuckled, pulling my face close for a kiss and still laughing.

“Hey, don’t stop. That feels so nice” I purred, missing the soft touch of his fingers on my arm.

“What? This?” he said, stroking me again. “You like that, huh?”

“Mmmhhhmmmnnn, uh-huh” I said, closing my eyes and leaning against him.

“I’ll remember that” he said, still chuckling, but lower in his throat now.

I could feel myself melting like butter under his feather like touches. The effect was hardly lost on Jon as he reached for my breast with his other hand, flicking the stiffened nipple with his thumb.

“You really do like that, don’t you” he observed and I moaned softly in acknowledgement. “There’s a couch in back, darlin’, let’s get comfortable” he suggested, kissing me again.

I opened my eyes and saw the desire in his eyes as they met mine. I nodded almost imperceptibly and he rose, taking my hand and leading me back to the couch. He pushed me down gently, covering my body with his own as his tongue thrust into my waiting mouth. I knew it was only a short flight, but I didn’t care.

“I want you now” I murmured into his ear and he responded by pushing my shirt up, exposing my breasts to his gaze, followed soon by the feel of his soft warm lips on my nipple. His fingers moved to the button on my jeans as he deftly opened them and pulled down the zipper, slipping his hand inside and stroking the soft triangle of fur between my legs.

“Ooohhhhh, Jon” I moaned as his index finger slipped into my warm, wet pussy. I reached for the button on his jeans and tugged until it gave way and I unzipped his pants. He removed his finger to hastily push his jeans over his hips and then tug mine off past my knees. I spread my legs as wide as I could with my feet trapped in the tangle of clothing and I arched my back, offering myself to him.

He slid his arms underneath my shoulders, raising my throat to his lips as the fat head of his cock poked at my creamy center, sliding across my engorged clit. I bucked against him, angling myself to take him inside me and he let out a groan as he entered me and stilled himself, allowing me to set the pace. I raised my hips, grinding against him and rolling them back and forth, my clit slipping and sliding against the hilt of his shaft, teasing us both.

Using his feet, still caught in his jeans, he kicked at my pants until I was able to free one foot and wrap my legs around his hips, pulling him in deeper. His teeth bit into my shoulder then as I stifled a cry, burying my lips in his hair. He met my thrusts with his own, his need now as urgent as mine, and we ground against each other as our release approached. He bit me harder now, squelching his own cry as he came, and my spasms gripped him in the throes of my own explosion.

I was stuck to the leather couch, the sweat acting like glue as I wriggled and writhed beneath him and he released his seed inside me. His jaw relaxed and he let go of my shoulder, his chin slipping deliciously across the sensitive wet skin as my body jerked beneath him.

“God, baby, that felt good” he whispered, trying to be discreet.

“Oh, yeah, and I really needed that” I agreed, feeling all the day’s tension evaporate as he grew soft inside me.

“I think we’ll be landing soon” he said as we heard a ding overhead.

“Welcome to Buffalo” I giggled with a wicked grin.

The Sauna Part 53

The ride went relatively well as Jon and Steph chatted about the Soul and the team they were playing from Denver. Stephanie seemed to be relaxing and I settled back and just listened, feeling a little relieved.

We arrived at the stadium and headed in, but there were fans everywhere, as much for Jon as for the team. Jon stopped to sign autographs and shake hands with his fans while Steph and I stayed back and waited.

“Steph, why don’t you two go on ahead and I’ll catch up with you. Show Trish where to go. Richie should be coming too” he said to Steph and then turned to me. “She knows the way. Just follow her. I’ll be along shortly, just a couple things to do first” he explained to me.

I followed Stephanie to the owner’s box and we settled in. Richie came in just after us and gave each of us a hug.

“I’m so sorry about last night. I don’t blame Jon for taking off after he saw all the press. She makes me so mad sometimes” he said to me, apologizing for Denise’s rudeness the night before.

“It’s okay. It wasn’t your fault, Richie. She’s got a sharp tongue” I replied.

“She felt left out and she knows no one approves of her and that’s just how she gets when she’s hurt” he rationalized. I didn’t believe it for a minute, but I bit my tongue. Jon was right. It sounded like he’d already forgiven her.

“I’m glad you’re here today” I said simply. We sat down and Richie talked to Stephanie a little about school and what she wanted to do over her summer vacation. She was delightful and they got along well.

“Your Father says you have a boyfriend. Some guy from school who keeps calling? Is he your boyfriend?” Richie teased.

“Oh, him? No, he just needs help with his English and he keeps calling me. Mom thinks he likes me, but I like another guy” she answered.

“What’s he like? The other boy you like?” I ventured, trying to join the conversation, but she ignored me and kept talking to Richie, changing the subject to the game today. Richie looked at me sympathetically and tried to draw me into the conversation.

“Are you a football fan, Trish?” he asked.

“Not really. This is my first game, so I really don’t know much about it” I explained.

“Oh brother” Stephanie muttered under her breath. Richie then tried to explain how arena football is different than regular football, but I just nodded, having no real frame of reference to understand the comparisons.

“Do you watch regular football too, Steph?” I asked, trying again, but she wasn’t listening. Richie excused himself to say hello to someone else and I turned forward to look at the crowd.

“Your dad has a lot of fans here too, I see” I said, trying again to find a way to connect with Stephanie. I pointed at a couple women who were dancing in the stand to ‘Who Says You Can’t Go Home?’ hoping to maybe engage her by talking about her dad.

“Just leave me alone, will you? You’re just some tramp my Dad picked up and he’ll be over you soon enough, so just quit trying to be nice and leave me alone” she blasted me. The hurt and anger on her face made me catch my breath.

“Steph, I know this is hard for you. But your dad and I love each other. And he loves you too. I don’t want to ever come between you” I said, tears forming as I thought how hard this was going to be for Jon. I was trying to be rational, but I didn’t particularly like Stephanie a whole lot at the moment.

Richie had returned a moment before and I thought he’d heard the exchange as he looked at me sympathetically and asked if he could get me a drink. I nodded and Stephanie had turned away and I thought she was trying not to cry. Richie came back and handed me a glass of wine just as Jon arrived. Stephanie moved over another seat and he sat down between us, sensing the mood.

“What happened? What’s wrong?” he asked me anxiously.

“Nothing really, Stephanie is a little upset still about me. She’s having a hard time accepting all this. I think she just needs some time, Jon” I said, taking a deep breath. “I’m okay” I whispered. “Take care of her now.”

Jon looked at me and he looked tired now. He really hadn’t seen this coming and he was used to taking care of things, but here he was at a loss. He wasn’t used to things not going his way.

He turned to Stephanie who was staring straight ahead, not looking at him either.

“Steph? Is everything okay?” he asked, putting his arm around her.

She sniffed and said nothing, struggling to hold back the tears I knew were there. They needed some time alone. I turned to Richie and asked if he could show me where the ladies room was and he stood and gave me his hand, helping me climb over the seat. We stepped out of the owner’s box after I whispered to Jon that I’d give him some time with Steph.

“Are you okay? I heard what she said to you and you know that’s not true. Jon loves you and he’d never even introduce you to his kids if he wasn’t serious” he said reassuringly.

“Thanks, Richie, I know. It was hard to hear that, but I know this all has to be a shock for her. I think it’s all just too much too soon. She needs time with him alone to know that it won’t change their relationship” I said.

“I know. The other kids will be okay, but Steph is close to Dot and I’m sure this hurts her because she’s always believed they’d get back together. Jon’s never shown any interest in anyone else before and this is challenging her fantasy that they’ll get back together. She‘s a good kid, really” he said.

I was impressed with Richie’s ability to understand it all and surprised that Jon had so misread his daughter. But then again, maybe he only saw what he wanted to believe. We peered inside the owner’s box and could see that they were still talking.

“Let’s get another drink at the bar and give them some time” Richie suggested and we walked back in, but over toward the bar. Richie introduced me to John Elway, the owner of the team from Denver and we chatted for a bit.

The game was just about to start and everyone stood for the national anthem. Afterwards, Richie and I watched Jon and Steph from the bar. Jon glanced back once and I nodded to him, but it was obvious he was still talking to Steph, so we waited. Finally I saw her hug Jon and I nudged Richie.

“Think it’s safe to go back?” I whispered to him.

“Yeah, looks about as good as it’s likely to get, I think” he agreed and we made our way back to our seats.

I sat down quietly next to Jon and he put his hand on my knee. I put my hand over his and knew we were okay without needing any words. The game was actually rather exciting, even given the fact that I really didn’t understand a lot of what was happening. The Soul were losing, though, but Jon seemed preoccupied and less upset than I would have anticipated.

By half-time the Soul had nearly caught up and it looked like the game might turn around. John Elway came over to say hello and chatted. Jon wanted to go and talk to the coach and asked if we wanted any food or snacks. I didn’t have much of an appetite still and declined, but he was hungry and Steph wanted nachos. Richie went with Jon to help with the food, leaving me and Steph alone again. I decided I wouldn’t try to talk to her and waited to see whether she’d say anything to me this time.

As soon as Jon was alone with Richie, he asked him if he knew what happened. Richie recounted the gist of the conversation, but Jon wasn’t satisfied.

“Tell me what was said, all of it” Jon demanded.

“It was a little rough” Richie said, still hedging.

“What did Steph say? Tell me” he insisted and Richie relented, giving Jon the whole story. Jon was shocked that his daughter would behave like that and none too pleased.

“Let it go, man. She’s twelve. Trish is okay and she handled it well. Just leave it alone and give her time. You can’t force them to bond because it would be easier on you if they did” Richie advised.

“I’m not letting her get away with talking like that. I don’t care how upset she is, that’s no excuse for what she said. She’s going to apologize” he said, fuming.

“Man, she’s settled down now. You’re gonna make it worse. Let sleeping dogs lie” Richie cautioned again, but Jon wasn’t having any of it. His need to force the situation the way he wanted it to go was too strong.

Stephanie and I sat in silence for more than ten minutes. It seemed like hours, but I was determined to back off and wait for her and I could see she was looking at me out of the corner of her eye. Finally, she spoke.

“They’re dancing again” she said pointing. I followed the direction of her finger and saw the two ladies I’d pointed out previously who were dancing in the stands again.

“You’re right, they must be big fans” I said, staying on neutral ground.

“Yeah, dad had a picture taken once with the one lady. I think her name is Ruth. She seemed really nice. They’re at all the games I’ve been to” Steph replied, still not looking directly at me and I followed suit.

“It looks like the Soul may win after all. How many points did you say you were thinking they’d win by?” I asked, still staying on neutral ground. She looked at me then, forgetting herself.

“Seven! I really want them to beat Denver. They’re sort of a rival” she offered, explaining. I was feeling relieved now until Jon returned, scowling.

“Uh-oh, looks like your dad’s not very happy about something” I said, assuming it had to do with his conversation with the coach. Jon sat down and handed Steph her nachos and turned to her.

“We need to have a word, young lady” I heard him say to her. Shit. Not now, I thought to myself and nudged Jon. He looked at me with an annoyed expression. I mouthed “Don’t. Not now” at him, but he ignored me and turned back to Steph who was staring at her nachos.

“Look at me” he said to her. I nudged him again and he shrugged me off. Stephanie looked up at him.

“Jon, please” I tried again, knowing I was treading on thin ice, but feeling sorry for Steph now.

“Let me handle this” he said in an irritated voice.

“Stephanie. You owe Trish an apology. I know what you said and I’m really disappointed in you. That was uncalled for and you’re not getting away with it” he said to her and she started to cry. Shit, I thought again. Please stop, leave it alone. I was silently willing him to back off.

“Jon, it’s not necessary. Please, we’re okay. Leave her alone” I pleaded.

“Don’t tell me how to handle my daughter!” he went off on me now too. That was it. Now I was mad as well. I got up and went to the bar and Richie followed me, having heard the whole thing.

“He just can’t leave it alone. He can be such a bastard sometimes” he said.

“Yeah, I’m beginning to see that! We were getting along okay and he just blew it. Damn it!” I said, pissed off at Jon for being pig-headed.

Jon looked back at us and then at Steph who was still crying and stormed off. I couldn’t tell if he was mad at both of us now or at himself, but I went and sat by Stephanie.

“It’s okay, sweetie. I’m sorry. Your Father is a hard man, sometimes” I said soothingly.

She sniffed and pulled away, but looked at me, tears still streaming down her face. I handed her a tissue and looked away.

“I am sorry; I shouldn’t have said what I did. I just wanted it to be true. I don’t want my Dad to love somebody else, but I know he does. I am sorry” she said to me.

“It’s okay, Steph. Really, I know it’s a lot to take in. But your dad loves you. He’s just so demanding sometimes. It’ll be okay” I said.

Richie had gone looking for Jon and found him outside the box, hitting the wall with his hand. “Hey, asshole! Are you happy now? They’re both pissed at you, ya jerk!” he said to Jon, not letting him off the hook.

Jon looked at him with a mixture of rage and anguish. He knew he blew it and now he didn’t know how to make it better.

“Just go and apologize to both of them, man. Bite the bullet and act like the grown-up, will ya?” Richie chided him.

Jon just stood there looking impotent for a moment. “I just don’t know how to handle this. I didn’t see it coming. I’m not even sure how I feel right now” he confessed.

“It’s hard, man. Kids are hard and women are harder. Just buck it up and apologize. You can work it out later” Richie encouraged him. Jon looked exhausted, but nodded, admitting defeat. “I should’ve listened to both of you” he added, looking sheepish.

“Yeah, but that would’ve been a first” Richie grinned.

Jon punched Richie in the arm and followed him back into the box, stopping at the bar to get a drink first. He sat down between me and Stephanie and neither of us looked at him.

“I’m sorry, ladies. I acted like a jerk. Will you forgive me?” he said to both of us. I knew it took a lot for Jon to say that and I responded with a smile. Stephanie was a little more difficult. Jon turned her head to look at him.

“Steph? I am sorry” he said and I saw the ice melt. She hugged him and he hugged her back. The knot in my stomach dissolved and I knew we could watch the rest of the game without the previous tension. The Soul ended up winning by exactly seven points and the ladies in the bleachers across from us did their happy dance. Stephanie and I joined in and even Jon did.

The Sauna Part 52

We’d drifted off momentarily and I glanced at the clock as I began to stir and roused Jon. It was nearly ten and we had just two hours to shower, dress and pack before Stephanie was due to arrive.

“Shit. We’d better get movin’. It’s almost ten” he said following my eyes to the clock.

He rolled off of me and pulled me along with him as we were still entwined in each other’s arms and we rolled right off the bed onto the floor in a heap.

“Owwwww!” I yelped as we hit the hard floor, Jon landing on top of me.

“Are you alright?” he asked, scrambling to get up and pulling me to my feet.

“A little dazed, maybe, but not necessarily from the fall!” I laughed.

“Yeah, I know what you mean! We better get in the shower and wake up before we hurt ourselves” he chuckled.

We showered together, hurrying now as the last thing we needed was to be half naked if Stephanie came early. I was determined to make the bed, too, as she didn’t need to see evidence of our passion.

“Why are you making the bed?” Jon asked, helping me anyway.

“Because your twelve year old daughter doesn’t need to see how her father spent his morning!” I giggled.

“Oh, yeah, I guess you’re right. I hadn’t thought about that” he said, thinking. “I guess it’s a good thing we got that out of our system first, huh?” he grinned.

“Yes, and we should try and behave ourselves while Steph is with us. I don’t want her to be upset. And I’m pretty nervous about meeting her” I added, smoothing the bedspread and fluffing the pillows.

Jon came around to my side of the bed and slipped his arms about my waist, smoothing my still damp hair back off my shoulders. “Don’t worry darlin’. Steph will be okay and I do want her to know how I feel about you. I’m not going to hide my feelings from my daughter” he said soothingly.

“Just don’t push her, Jon. Let her get used to the idea for a while” I cautioned. I was far less certain of Steph’s ability to accept her dad’s moving on than he was.

We finished straightening up and got dressed and I began packing. Jon tossed a few shirts and jeans my way and I managed to squeeze everything into my suitcases since I had decided to leave a number of things here. I went over to the closet and took out Jon’s leather vest and folded it to go in the suitcase.

“Why are you packing that?” he asked, watching as he threw a couple ties in the suitcase.

“Because I like it” I said, winking.

“I see. Is there anything else you’d like me to wear?” he asked, raising his eyebrows at me.

“As a matter of fact, there is” I said, rifling through the closet and finding the Live 8 leather pants towards the back.

“Those? You like those?” he asked, surprised.

“Mmmhhhmmmnnn. Uh-huh. Very much” I replied, licking my lips. “It shows your, uhm, assets very nicely.”

“Perhaps I should let you pack for me? I’m curious now to see what else you’d choose” he prodded me.

“Okay. Where’s the brown leather shirt with the designs on it? And the body glove, the silver one?” I asked, making a mental inventory of his wardrobe I had nearly memorized.

“This?” he asked, pulling the shimmering silver thing out of a drawer.

“That’s the one” I said, snatching it away from him and putting it in the suitcase.

“I’m not sure which leather shirt you mean. Is it one of these?” he asked, holding up a couple. I shook my head and he held up another couple and I spied the one I wanted.

“That one” I pointed to it and he handed it to me.

“Anything else, babe? I could dig up my spandex, I think” he said, teasing.

“No, no. Not necessary” I said, wrinkling my nose. “But maybe some shorts and socks, and a suit, just in case” I suggested.

Jon scrounged around in another drawer, and tossed me a pair of cut offs, jogging shorts and a couple balls of socks. He held up two suits, one casual and one more formal. “Both” I nodded as he laid them on the bed and searched for a garment bag.

“Oh, and the thermal shirt! In case it gets cool” I added, trying to downplay my excitement at the image. He caught the look on my face and raised his eyebrows again.

“There is a few in the bottom drawer there. You really have my wardrobe memorized, don’t you?” he commented, still searching for the garment bag.

“Well, it’s not like every picture of you is a different outfit, you know!” I said defensively. “Besides, I’m being selective as I’m running out of room. If I left it up to you, there’d be little else besides jeans and t-shirts in here.”

“Yeah, you’re probably right. I could wear the same thing everyday if I had to” he shrugged. “I’ve got a carry on bag if you need more room.”

“Nope, I think we’re good now, if I can just get this closed” I said, pushing the lid shut and yanking at the zipper.

“Here. Let me. I’m good at this” he said as he pulled the zipper closed.

Just then the doorbell rang. Jon answered and Stephanie bounced through the door, looking like a typical twelve year old, IPOD in hand with earphones attached. I heard a car beep as Jon waved and Dot pulled out of the driveway. Jon hugged her from behind and pulled the earphone out.

“Hi honey! It’s so good to see ya! C’mon! There’s somebody I want you to meet” Jon said as he led her towards where I stood waiting between the kitchen and the living room.

“Steph, this is Trish. Trish, this is my daughter, Stephanie” he said giving her a push towards me.

“Hi, Steph, I’m so glad you’re coming to the game today. It’s great to meet you!” I said enthusiastically.

“I always come with my dad when he goes to a game” she replied, not really acknowledging me. I decided to ignore it and offered her a drink instead.

“Dad, do you still have my pop here?” she said, turning back to Jon.

“Yeah, babe. There’s diet coke in the fridge” he said looking at me disappointedly as she bounced off to the kitchen to peer in the fridge. I looked at Jon and shook my head that it was okay and we followed Steph into the kitchen.

“Are you hungry? I could make us a snack” I tried again.

“No. We have to get going, right, dad? Besides, we always go to Chickie & Pete’s when we’re there” she said, finally acknowledging me.

“Oh, I’ve heard about that place. I’ll be anxious to try it” I said pleasantly. This wasn’t going to be easy.

“She’s coming with us? I thought it was just you and me and all I had to do was meet her!” Stephanie said angrily, turning to Jon.

“No. We’re all going together. I wanted you two to get know each other and I figured this was a good opportunity. Now stop being rude” he said, getting annoyed.

“It’s okay, Jon. Maybe another time would be better. There’ll be other times” I said, trying to let him off the hook.

“No, we’re all going. I want both my girls with me” he insisted. “It’ll be fun” he said reassuringly. I was not so sure.

“The limo will be here in about twenty minutes. Why don’t you finish up the packing and I’ll be there in a minute” he said, hinting for me to leave him alone with his daughter.

I nodded and went back to the bedroom and started packing up the toiletries and hair dryer, thinking this was going to be really awkward. I wasn’t sure what to do, but I wasn’t about to argue with Jon either. He knew his daughter and I would just follow his lead. I had just finished putting all our supplies into the travel case when he came in behind me and slipped his arms about my waist, kissing my shoulder.

“I’m sorry, babe. She’s being a little difficult, but it’s okay. Once we get there, it’ll be fine” he said softly.

“I understand. She’s not used to sharing her dad with another woman and I don’t blame her. Don’t worry about me, love. I’m a big girl, she needs you more” I said, trying to be the adult.

“Thanks for understanding darlin’. Let’s take the bags out, the limo will be here any minute” he said, hoisting the suitcase off the bed.

“Rick’s here!” Steph called as we brought the bags out. “Are you going home?” Steph asked, looking at the bags and then at me, smiling for the first time since I’d seen her.

“Yes, we’re leaving for Buffalo after the game tonight” I explained.

“You’re leaving too?” she said, looking at her father and Jon nodded.

I wondered just how little he’d shared with her and suddenly felt sad for her. This was going to be a big change. Jon had a habit of sharing details only when necessary and I knew that didn’t help.

“It’s only for about a week or so. It’s a holiday next weekend and we thought we might go to Florida and see our folks, but maybe we’ll come back here” I offered, trying to explain as much as I knew so far.

“Are you coming back, dad? What about Jesse and Jakey? And Romeo?” she said looking at Jon. He looked sad then, realizing all the questions that would be coming that he didn’t have answers for. The man who could handle a gaggle of reporters was caught off guard by his own daughter.

“Of course I’ll be back. We haven’t got it all figured out yet, Steph, but we’ll be back and forth between here and Buffalo until we do. And you can come and visit anytime once school’s out” he said, wiping a tear from her cheek.

“Daddy, I don’t want you to leave. Stay here” she pleaded and my heart broke. Jon hadn’t expected this and his eyes were moist as he hugged her, looking at me over her shoulder.

“Honey, it’s okay. I love you and we’ll still see each other a lot. It’ll be okay. I promise. I’ll miss you too” he said in a choked voice. The limo beeped to let us know they were here and Jon straightened up. “C’mon, girls, let’s go” he said, trying to sound more cheerful than any of us felt at the moment.

He dragged the suitcase out and I carried the travel bag and stuck an extra diet coke in my purse for Steph. Rick’s eyes lit up when he saw Steph and gave her a big hug.

“So, how much are the Soul going to win by today?” Rick asked Steph.

“Lots! At least seven points” she said, and I was struck by how mercurial her mood was, much like her Father.

We climbed in the back seat and I was glad that Rick had replenished the supplies as Jon pulled a bottle of chilled wine out of the little fridge. “Drink, babe?” he asked as he poured his glass. I nodded. It would be a long afternoon.

“I forgot my soda” Steph said and I reached into my purse and pulled out a fresh one, glad I’d thought of it. She took it wordlessly and then looked up and met my eyes. “Thank you” she finally said and Jon smiled. Perhaps it would be okay after all.

The Sauna Part 51

We woke early the next morning, both with headaches after drinking too much in an attempt to obliterate the whole encounter with Denise and Richie. Jon squinted at the sunlight and shielded his eyes, groaning.

“Is it morning already?” he asked, knowing the answer. I looked at the clock. It was eight o’clock and we had to pack before leaving for the Soul game.

“It’s eight, and my head is killing me” I moaned back.

“I’ll get the aspirin. I’ve got a banger of a headache too” he said, rolling out of bed and heading for the bathroom.

I stretched and blinked my eyes. This was the first hangover I’d had in years and I felt rather foolish. I thought back to what had prompted it and actually smiled. We did handle Denise pretty well, I had to admit, and in retrospect it was rather funny.

Jon returned with a glass of water and a jar of aspirin and sat down on the bed beside me. He took three pills from the bottle and handed it to me.

“Why are you smiling this morning? My head is killing me!” he asked, looking at me as I dumped out the aspirin and took a handful.

“You mean besides being treated to watching you stroll around butt-naked?” I asked playfully. “I was thinking about last night. I was pretty pleased with how we handled the situation with that bitch. At least we won’t be running into her again anytime soon” I added.

“That’s true” Jon grinned as he stretched out on the bed in all his glory. “Richie was planning on being at the game today. I don’t think he’d bring her, but after last night I don’t know what to think. I’ll call him to make sure he uses his brain this time!” he said, reaching for the phone and dialing.

“I’ll go start the coffee, love. Be nice to Richie” I added, hoping he’d go easy on him.

I made the coffee, but I was in no state to attempt breakfast. The mere thought of food was nauseating. I waited until it was ready and poured us both a cup and headed for the bedroom. Jon was still on the phone and I handed him the mug.

“Morning, Richie!” I said into the receiver and Jon grinned.

“He’s pretty hung over himself” he whispered to me. “Okay, man. We’ll see ya later. We gotta pack and get ready. Dot’s dropping Steph off at about noon” he said and hung up.

“I’m guessing Denise won’t be joining us, judging from the smile on your face?” I ventured.

“No fucking way. He knows she pissed everybody off and he sounds fed up with her too. He sent her home in a cab last night!” he beamed at me.

“Whoa. Did they have a fight? Is it over?” I asked incredulously.

“I’d love to say yes, but I doubt it. They’ve had these fights before and then she always apologizes and he forgives her. He was pretty pissed, though, about the press showing up at the restaurant after she’d started shit with us earlier. I guess she was fuming after the comments you made to her. Way to go, lady!” he said gleefully.

“Good. I was pretty incensed myself at her remarks. I heard you say Steph will be here at noon. Shouldn’t we start packing?” I asked, changing the subject.

“We’ve got time yet. C’mon back to bed, babe” he leered at me, holding his stiffened cock like a weapon. It was an invitation I wasn’t about to refuse.

I climbed into the bed astride Jon and he tugged at the belt on my robe to loosen it. I shrugged my shoulders and it fell away as he guided me onto his rigid pole and I lowered myself down slowly. His left hand reached for my breast while the other held me firmly in place as he began to rock gently. He filled me so completely and deeply this way it was all I could do to stay still and let him set the pace.

“C’mere” he said gruffly with a look that sent ripples of pleasure through my body as I bent to kiss him. His tongue parted my lips and penetrated my mouth just as his shaft penetrated my inner recesses and I held steady while he bucked beneath me. My hair fell forward and he gently gathered it in his hands, holding it behind my neck as he withdrew his tongue long enough to look up at me. My nipples brushed his chest as I arched my back and raised my head, opening my eyes to look at his face.

“You’re so beautiful” he said, in a voice thick with desire.

I drank in the sight of him, his eyes dark, but wide with appreciation as his full lips curved into a smile that I matched with my own. He tugged slightly on my hair and I arched my neck, offering him my throat. His lips were soft and gentle on the tender flesh as he traced the trickle of sweat that ran down my neck with his tongue. I moaned softly as he held me tighter, his fingers kneading my hips as I ground back against him. His thrusts quickened and he seemed to penetrate me further as the friction from our movements hit the right spot and I gasped. His mouth became more urgent, and he sucked hard on my shoulder, bringing me over the edge. I bit my lip as I came and he tightened his grip, holding me in position.

He was panting and sweating now, his eyes a brilliant blue, as he flipped me over onto my back and I wrapped my legs about his hips urging him on. He drove into me so hard I could barely breathe until I felt the second explosion as I came again, this time nearly convulsing as I called out his name.

I placed my hands on his arms, feeling the muscles taught and hard as he hovered above me, still holding back. He nipped at my lips, and I sunk my fingers into his hair, damp now with the exertion of his efforts. I drew his head down and softly tugged on his earlobe with my lips and whispered his name. My nails dug into his shoulders as my fingers curled and released while the next orgasm began to build. He read me like a book and shifted slightly, changing the angle of his thrusts as he chuckled, letting me know who was in charge.

I arched my head back, acknowledging my submission and lost myself in the rush of feeling spreading from my loins to the hard tips of my nipples. As the peak approached, I stiffened and gripped his shaft, squeezing hard as he crushed me to him, now breathing hard in my ear. His rhythm quickened and I felt his own release as I sunk my fingers into the firm flesh of his ass. I was rewarded with a loud groan as he collapsed on top of me, burying his face in my neck, the morning stubble of his chin scraping the tender skin there. I shivered from the sensation as my own contractions milked the last of his fluids inside me. I raised my arms and circled his neck, as we lay there, panting and heaving and he moaned softly, his hot breath in my ear extending the pleasure still.

“Oh my God, baby” he purred, exhausted and contented as I shifted position slightly in order to breathe. I felt his limp penis beginning to slip out and I squeezed my legs in order to hold it there as long as I could, trying to savor the moment.

“Jesus, Jon, you’re spoiling me” I sighed, kissing his cheek as it rested against my face.

He raised his head with an effort, his eyes dreamy now and slightly glassy. “I can’t help it, babe. I just can’t get enough. I wanna drown inside you” he said thickly.

I hugged him tightly. “Me either. I love you so much” I replied as we lay there, too spent to move.

The Sauna Part 50

We got dressed quickly and were off on the bike. The weather had cleared and the sun was shining, but it was still cool and damp from the heavy rain. I snuggled more tightly against Jon as we rode, breathing in deeply the scent of leather as I pressed my nose against his back.

We pulled in at a little drive-in that looked like something from the fifties. It wasn’t that crowded since we were past the usual lunch hour and the weather had been so foul earlier. Jon ordered two burgers and fries and I decided a chicken taco would hit the spot before indulging my craving for ice cream. And of course, I ordered hot coffee to take away the lingering chill.

Jon took our tray and we headed outside to a table in the sun. I sipped my coffee and looked out at the ocean, imagining how it must’ve looked a few hours earlier with the storm. The water was calm now and we were surrounded by seagulls cawing loudly overhead and scavenging the beach for scraps of food.

Jon ate ravenously and finished his first burger before I was half-way through the taco. “Save me a couple fries for the birds” I grinned, watching him devour the food so quickly. I told him about my friend’s cottage in Canada and how I was reminded of that as we used to feed the seagulls French fries. They were often bold enough to take them right from your hand if you held the fry up over your head.

Jon waved a fry at me and I grabbed it before it too disappeared in his mouth, and tossed it onto the beach where a hungry gull immediately snatched it away. The bird stood there, then, looking at me expectantly. “Now see what you started?” Jon teased, laughing at the expression on the bird‘s face.

I finished my taco and grabbed a handful of fries as he popped the last of his burger in his mouth. “C’mon!” I called, running off onto the beach and waving a fry in the air. No sooner had Jon caught up to me when a gull swooped and stole the French fry from my hand.

“I guess you’re right!” he laughed. “You remind me of Steph. She always has to share her lunch with the hungry little thieves” he remarked, tossing a fry in the air to be caught by another gull. I tossed another to a particularly talkative bird who caught it in his open mouth while Jon continued to munch on the remainder he had.

We walked back to the drive-in, having exhausted Jon’s supply of fries. “Ice cream?” he asked and I nodded as we approached the window.

He ordered a double scoop of mint chocolate chip and waited for me as I scanned the list of flavors. “Coffee” I ordered, tickled that they had my favorite flavor. Jon rolled his eyes. “I should have guessed” he said, shaking his head.

We strolled along the beach for a bit, eating our treats and chatting about the next couple days and I learned that Stephanie might be joining us at the Soul game tomorrow. I was a little anxious about that, as I felt she would be the hardest one to pass muster with, but it was encouraging to hear that she might be ready to meet me too.

“I figured we could drive down if Steph is going and then drive back to take her home and take the plane to Buffalo Saturday night or Sunday morning. If Steph decides not to join us, we can take the plane and just fly straight from Philly to Buffalo. How does that sound?” Jon asked.

“Sounds like a plan. Will we have time to pack tomorrow morning or should we try and do that this afternoon before the show?” I wondered, getting anxious to go home and see my cats.

“We should have time in the morning. Even if we drive, it’s not that far” he reflected. “I should call Steph and see if she’s coming” he said, reaching for the cell.

We sat down on a large rock, set back against a little cove, where the water had washed up against the bank. I looked out at the ocean, watching the water as it lapped at my feet and withdrew, carrying bits of sand away with it. It was easy to become lost in the rhythmic movement and the soothing sounds of the water and I found myself lulled into a semi hypnotic state, not really thinking of anything. Jon was watching me intently as I sat there, slowly licking my ice cream, my eyes transfixed on the gently rolling water, momentarily lost in the sights and sounds around me.

“Steph wants to come tomorrow” Jon said, clicking off the phone.

“Huh?” I replied, as his voice broke my trance.

“Steph. She’s going with us tomorrow. Where were you? You seemed so far away” Jon asked, his hand on my knee.

“Just caught in the moment, I guess. There’s something about the beach, especially after a storm. I just sort of got lost in it. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to zone out on you” I apologized.

“No, no. It’s okay. You looked so beautiful, but so far away. I understand, though. There’s something about this place at times that calls me away too” he said, reaching for me. His arm slipped about my waist and I rested my head on his shoulder. I was glad Jon felt it too, and I was glad we could share this quiet moment without words. We sat in silence, absorbing the feel of our surroundings and I felt a deep sense of connection to Jon because he understood.

It was nearly three and time to return to the real world. Reluctantly we stood, preparing to leave, as we brushed the remnants of sand off our clothes. Without a word, Jon drew me to him, kissing me deeply, sealing the moment in my mind. We walked hand in hand back to the bike and headed home.

The limo was waiting when we pulled up and Jon put the bike in the garage and we climbed in, heading off for the show. It was early and only David and Hugh were there when we arrived. Jon made himself busy barking orders while I waited in his dressing room. I called my cat sitter to let her know we would be arriving tomorrow night or Sunday morning and she sounded relieved.

“Your boys miss you. Eddie is moping and Zeke is sulking. They’ll be glad to have you home” she said. I thanked her and hung up, experiencing mixed feelings about going home. I was anxious to see my boys and to go home, but not anxious to see this exciting time come to an end, even if it was only temporary. The last week had been magical and I didn’t know what the next phase would bring. And I was worried that Jon would be bored while I was at work. I resolved to cross that bridge when we got there.

Jon appeared in the doorway carrying two glasses of champagne. He handed one to me with a smile. “Last show! I’ll bet you’re anxious to go home?” he asked, still smiling.

“Yes and no” I answered. “My boys are missing me. I just spoke to the sitter. But this last week has been so wonderful and I’m not anxious to see it end either” I said honestly.

“Awww, babe, c’mere” Jon said, holding his arms open. “It’ll be okay. And I’m anxious to have you all to myself when we get to Buffalo and just relax” he said soothingly as he folded me against his chest.

He had a way of comforting me that allowed me to relax and trust the future. Any doubts I had seemed to evaporate when I felt his arms around me.

“And I have a surprise for you” he said delightedly, whispering in my ear. I looked up expectantly. “Eva is here. It’s the last show and she wanted to see you before we leave tomorrow” he grinned.

“Eva’s here? Where is she?” I asked, excited.

Jon laughed. “She’s out by the stage. We were thinking maybe we’d all head out after the show for a bit since it’s an early one tonight?” Jon said as Eva poked her head in from the doorway.

“Is it safe to come in? Have you two got your clothes on for a change?” she grinned at us.

“Guess we’ll have to keep them on now that you’re here!” Jon teased as Eva approached and gave me a hug. “I’ve got the sound check to do, so I’ll leave you with Eva” he said, giving me a quick kiss as he turned to depart.

“I couldn’t let you leave New Jersey tomorrow without saying goodbye. It’s an early show, so I told Jon we should head out for a late dinner afterwards” she chirped, her enthusiasm as infectious as ever.

“That sounds great to me. I was feeling a little sad about leaving and all. My life seems so dull compared to this past week and I don’t know how I’m going to keep Jon occupied back in Buffalo!” I lamented.

“I’m sure you’ll find a way to entertain him” Eva said, winking at me.

“Oh, that piece isn’t the problem! It’s while I’m at work during the day that I’m worried” I laughed.

“Jon has a way of creating chaos wherever he goes. I have no fear that he’ll be able to amuse himself in Buffalo. You just wait and see. He’ll manage. I just wish I could be there to see how he’s going to handle five cats!” she smiled ruefully.

“Yeah, I’m anxious to see that myself. Not to mention my cats are jealous little beasts who’ve been neglected for over a week. It should be interesting to say the least!” I smirked.

“Well, I want a report! Make sure you stay in touch” she insisted and we proceeded to exchange phone numbers and emails.

Just then we heard a commotion and went out into the hall to see what had happened. Jon was headed towards us with a scowl and my stomach tightened at the look on his face.

“What happened? What’s wrong?” I asked anxiously.

“Richie’s fucking slut is here!” he said storming into the dressing room.

Denise Richards had arrived, accompanied by an entourage of people, and it was twenty minutes before show time. Jon slammed the door of the dressing room shut after Eva and I had followed him inside.

“Shit! What the fuck is wrong with him? He knows we all hate her” Eva said sourly.

Jon threw the glass in his hand across the room and it shattered as it hit the wall. He was fuming and pounded the dressing table with his fist.

“Fuck! Fuck!! Richie didn’t invite her. The bitch just showed up. As a fucking surprise for the last show! Now we’ve all got to try and be fucking nice for his sake!” he growled.

“Did you see the gaggle of reporters that were trailing after her? She creates a fucking spectacle everywhere she goes! Richie is such an idiot! She walks on water as far as he’s concerned. His eyes lit up the moment she walked in. It’s like she’s got some sort of spell over him, for Christ’s sake! I’d like to beat some fucking sense into him” Jon raged.

I hadn’t met her yet and was grateful she’d been absent thus far. I knew no one liked her, but it wasn’t discussed openly. Now I knew why. I hadn’t seen Jon’s rage first hand until this moment. He downed the remainder of the champagne left in my glass and poured another drink, running his hands through his hair in frustration.

“I’ve gotta calm down. I’m not gonna let her get to me like this” he said, struggling to get hold of himself. “C’mere, babe, I’m sorry” he said to me.

“It’s okay. Relax. It’ll be alright” I said as I walked into his outstretched arms. “Is she that bad?” I asked, looking over at Eva, who was scowling as well.

“She’s a fucking witch” Eva answered. “She gets off on all the attention and is using Richie. We all see it, but he’s so blind. Everyone’s tried to tell him, but he doesn’t see it. So we try to just ignore her and it makes her miserable when she’s not the center of attention” Eva explained.

“Richie was devastated over Heather and she just swooped right in, like a fuckin’ vulture. She makes me sick” Jon added, looking almost ill.

There was a knock on the door and Jon opened it. Richie stood there, looking apologetic and I actually felt bad for him. He looked uncomfortable and shifted his feet as he stood.

“I’m sorry, Jon. I didn’t know she was coming. Can we please just make the best of it?” he said, looking at each of us.

“Yeah, man. I know you didn’t do this on purpose. Just keep her away from me” Jon said, trying to conceal his loathing.

Denise appeared at Richie’s elbow then and I wondered at her audacity. She surely must have known how everyone felt about her.

“Richie, honey, it’s almost time” she said in a syrupy voice. “Hi, Jon! Eva! And who are you?” she said, as she pushed past Richie and extended her hand to me. Butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth, I thought to myself.

Richie broke in then and introduced me. I felt Jon stiffen next to me and I could feel the tension in him as he struggled to be civil.

“Why Denise, I would have thought you’d have recognized Trish from all the headlines. You do read the paper, don’t you?” he said with such an edge in his voice that my stomach turned.

“Oh, yes, of course. You’re Jon’s latest diversion, aren’t you?” she said, smiling sweetly at me. The knot in my stomach tightened as I saw the vein in Jon’s temple throbbing. I thought for an instant that he was going to strike her. I knew I wanted to.

I stepped forward slightly to put myself between them and smiled back, equally sincere. “And I see you’re every bit as charming as I’ve been told” I said sarcastically. “You were so accurate in your description” I said turning to Jon and winking. “What a shame we don’t have more time to chat, but the fans are waiting for the guys” I added pointedly.

Jon grinned back at me and I felt the tension in him easing as he drew me close and kissed me hard. “My lady’s right. C’mon, we’ve a show to do” he said, his arm around my waist as we headed for the stage.

Jon was amazing as he poured all the anger into a magnificent performance and dazzled the audience with his antics. The show flew by as Eva and I danced like wild women off to the side, also finding an outlet for the energy that the encounter with Denise had sparked. Denise herself stood on the other side, trying desperately to get Richie to pull her onstage and I caught the look Jon gave him warning him not to acknowledge her. Fortunately Richie heeded the warning and the show ended without incident. We left in the limo with Tico and Eva after the show in order to minimize any unnecessary exposure to Denise. Once we were on our way to dinner, Eva exploded.

“That stupid bitch! What fucking nerve she has! Trying to draw attention to herself like that! Jesus, Jon, tell me they won’t be joining us for dinner?” she pleaded.

“I already told Richie about it before she showed up and I’m hoping he has the sense not to show up with her in tow” he said disgustedly.

“What does he see in her? I can’t stand the sound of her voice and that sugary way she talks to him. She really is a witch” I chimed in, having had first hand experience with her now myself.

Jon laughed then. “I didn’t thank you earlier for handling that so smoothly. I was so close to popping her in the mouth until you stepped between us. I’ve never hit a woman, but she could easily be the first. Thank you, babe” he said as he kissed my hand.

“Well I, for one, would not have stopped you! She really deserved a black eye” Eva offered, laughing.

“Can you imagine that? She’d have been riding that wave of publicity forever” I added, laughing too.

“What the hell did I miss?” Tico asked, looking at each of us.

Eva eagerly recounted the details as we pulled up to the restaurant. The place was mobbed with reporters outside and Jon was furious as he peered out the window. The flashbulbs were exploding everywhere and I could see that Richie and Denise were in the middle of the swarm.

“I don’t fucking believe it. They’re here! Richie must’ve told her and she told the press! Screw this! I’m not spending another minute with them” he said, turning the speaker to the front seat on. “Get us the fuck outta here!” he ordered to Rick and the driver.

“Where to, boss?” Rick’s voice came back.

“Fuck! Anywhere else that’s open” he yelled as the limo sped away from the curb.

We ended up a few blocks away at a small restaurant with a large patio outside that Eva and Tico had been to before. It was late and it wasn’t crowded and no one even recognized Jon, but the host recognized Tico immediately and shook his hand. Tico slipped him something and we ended up with the whole patio to ourselves and some of the best Cuban cuisine I’d ever had.

We ordered champagne and relaxed, reveling in our narrow escape from Richie and Denise, and enjoyed what seemed like the first really normal evening among friends since I’d met Jon. It was nearly one am before we made it home and crawled into bed, both of us too drunk and too tired to do more than sleep.

The Sauna Part 49

It was just after one o’clock when I finished my shower and went to check on Jon and see about lunch. He was still at the computer and waiting for a reply from his Mom. He looked deep in thought, but stirred when I came in.

“Did you write your letter for your mom to put up on the Board?” I asked.

“Yeah, I re-wrote it a couple times as the first one I sent she returned to me to edit as the language needed some tweaking so I didn’t sound like a total prick. But I think the one I just sent will make the point without being outta line. Apparently I don’t hide it very well when I‘m pissed” he said with a smirk.

“Well, you do have somewhat of a reputation” I teased, just as the email came in. I waited while he read it.

“She’s going ahead with that one. Wanna read it, babe? See what you think” he offered. I was glad he asked as I was more than curious to see what he’d written. We exchanged places and I sat down. Jon stood behind me, his arms around my neck as he leaned over while I read.

Dear Fans:

I recently became aware of some activity here on the Board that concerns me. The Board was created as a way for fans to share their thoughts and feelings about the Band and to give us feedback too. My intent was to establish a way for people to communicate with each other and interact with us and I’d hoped it would be a bridge between us all. What I found instead was that a few people have taken it upon themselves, with no encouragement or sanction from me, to police the comments made here. These individuals will be dealt with privately, however I felt it necessary to try and set the record straight.
I invite people to share their opinions and feelings, whether popular or not, with no further fear of reprisal by a few people who think they have the right to speak for me. They don’t. An example was the Gutter Dweller “thread” that received a great deal of heat from certain individuals who felt it was inappropriate. I regret that the opinions of the few who were offended by it were perceived as representing the opinion of myself or the Board Administrators. Such was not the case. Disagreement is fine, but what I saw was people being attacked there.
I wrote the song “Have a Nice Day” because I was disturbed by the polarization occurring across the country. You can imagine how disturbed I was to see just that happening here, in my own backyard, so to speak. We all have a common bond and it ought to unite us rather than divide us. Fans can be fans for many reasons and it’s all good. We need to try and get along, and when we don’t, well, “Have a Nice Day” folks!
Jon

I was impressed. “Well said” I agreed and leaned back against him. Jon swept my hair to the side and kissed my neck. “So, what’s the plan to deal with the offensive ones individually?” I asked, hoping it was more than a warning.

“Oh, that? They’ve already had their membership revoked and are now banned from the Boards. Here’s the list. Did I get everyone?” he smiled.

I read through the names and while it wasn’t a long list, it was thorough. I nodded my approval. “Looks like a clean sweep. And thank you, really. You have no idea how long this has really bothered me. I figured you couldn’t possibly have known before or you wouldn’t have allowed it to continue this long. How did your Mom react to all of this?”

“At first she didn’t quite believe me. She considered one of them to be her friend, but when I directed her to read what I’d read, she was pretty upset. I suspect she hadn’t actually read much herself and relied on what she was being told. I promise you this, though. She’s pissed now too and there will be some shake ups in the personnel there now that she knows. I’m really glad you told me and we were able to stop this shit. Better late than never” he shared.

I kissed him then, feeling grateful and proud. He may have been slow to realize the problem, but once he became aware of it, his justice was swift and complete. I felt sad for him, though too, because this wasn’t something he’d ever seen coming. And I guessed that being stabbed in the back wasn’t altogether unfamiliar and I was sorry I was the one to have to make him aware of it.

“My mom is anxious to meet you, you know. We’ll have to plan a trip to Florida on that long weekend” he added.

I smiled, but my stomach knotted thinking what a holiday that would be; my meeting his mom and him meeting my dad. Well, if we could survive that, we’d survive just about anything.

“Yes, we’ll have to plan that soon” I agreed, stalling, but recognizing there was no avoiding it forever.

“Let’s plan lunch though first, babe? What do you want to do?” he asked, turning his attention to the next thing on the agenda.

“I can make some spaghetti, but not much to go with it, just sauce in a jar” I said as Jon wrinkled his nose.

“What else did you have in mind?” I asked, not really wanting plain spaghetti myself and having figured sauce from a jar wasn’t going to satisfy Jon either. “I am actually in the mood for some ice cream, though.”

“Okay, let’s get dressed and we’ll go. I know the place. And I can think of better things for you to do than cook. But food first, I’m starving!” he replied, smacking my butt pointedly as we headed downstairs to get dressed.

The Sauna Part 48

“So, I think the coffee’s ready now” Jon said, giving me his hand and hoisting me off the floor.

“I think I’m pretty wide awake now” I grinned. “But it smells so good” I added, always loving the aroma of a fresh brewed pot of coffee. I followed Jon to the kitchen on legs that were still shaky and he poured a cup for each of us.

“Since the storm is over, how about if we go into Backstage and you can show me what I’ve missed on there?” he asked, ready to see for himself.

I nodded and we went upstairs to the study where Jon had a laptop hooked up at a desk. It was still dark from the clouds and I turned on a lamp near the desk. It was a gorgeous room. The walls were a deep forest green and paneled with dark walnut wainscoting. It was done in a Frank Lloyd Wright style that I recognized immediately, with mission style furniture except for the burgundy leather couch and desk chair. The room was a bit chilly yet and Jon started a small fire in the big hearth near the desk.

“This is beautiful” I remarked, running my hands across the woodwork as I wandered around and looked out the old-fashioned octagonal window. I could see the ocean off in the distance. “I love this style.”

“Me too, the decorator really captured what I wanted. The copper ceiling tiles are even from an old building not far from here that they were tearing down and the skylight is from there as well too” he noted, busy with the fire.

I looked up, noticing the copper tiles and nodding. “This room has such quiet charm. Do you spend a lot of time here when you’re home?” I wondered.

“I thought I would, but I actually end up crashing in the bedroom in front of the TV most of the time. Not much need for a place to be alone when I’m alone in the whole damn house” he responded, reminding me how it hadn’t felt much like a home for a while now.

“Maybe that’ll change now when I’m here” I suggested, settling down on the sofa to wait.

He finished with the fire and sat down at the desk, turning on the computer. “Maybe if we make it out of the bedroom once in a while” he teased as the computer booted up. “Okay. We’re in. Now what?” he asked, turning to me.

I stood and moved behind him. I had to smile when I noticed the dust on the keyboard and the sticky notes stuck near the computer reminding him of passwords and such. “You really don’t get on the computer much, do you?” I smiled.

“Once in a while when I’m bored as shit. Why? How can you tell?” he said, turning to look at me.

I trailed my finger in the dust on the keyboard and pointed at the sticky notes. “It’s not hard to tell. You left clues” I said pointedly.

“Oh. Yeah” he laughed back. “I can’t remember all that damn stuff. My Mom put the notes up when she was here so I wouldn’t have to call her every time I wanted to get into here. I just have to remember what to type in where.”

“Are you logged in yet?” I asked, wondering where we were in the process.

“No. Uhmmm, let me see” he mumbled as he looked for what to do next. I put my hand over his on the mouse and moved it to the log in button. “Oh, yeah, that’s right” he grumbled and typed in Mod1 and a password. “Okay. Now what?” he asked, looking a bit stuck.

“Maybe we should trade places for a minute. Let me find some examples of what I was telling you about” I offered. Jon rose and seemed glad to turn over the keyboard. I began trolling around, looking for what might be a hot thread to begin and looking for recent posts by one of the “herd.” We had nicknamed the trouble makers the “cows”, I explained to Jon. I found a thread quickly that exemplified what I’d been describing. The head “cow” was getting snarky with someone who’d simply made a song request for one of the shows. “Here. Scroll here and read” I said, standing up.

Jon sat back down and started reading. “She only asked for a song! And she asked nicely, not like she was demanding something. What’s wrong with this other girl, this MB? She acts like the other fan had no business making a request. This is wrong” he said, reading more. I leaned over his shoulder and read as he scrolled along. The head cow’s sister had joined the fray, now picking unmercifully on the poor girl who had dared to make a request.

“This is typical, love. It happens all the time with her and her sister. You just met the head of the herd. And this is mild” I noted.

“This is wrong. This isn’t how it’s supposed to be” he said, shaking his head. “How can I stop this?” he asked.

“Wait. Let me see if I can find more” I said as we traded places. I sat down and found another thread where MB was happily sniping away at another member I knew who’d made some saucy remarks in a picture thread. “Here you go. Watch this one. And it’s live, so jump in whenever you feel like it” I encouraged.

Jon sat back down and started reading. “Fuck! What a bitch! She’s quoting rules at her. What the fuck?” he said, getting more pissed by the minute. “How do I jump in again?” he asked, getting aggravated as he’d forgotten how to post. I leaned in and moved the mouse, smiling.

“Okay, go ahead. Set her straight, babe” I prodded.

Jon couldn’t type, so it took him a little to get his thoughts out, but he blasted the head cow for being out of line. “Who do you think you are? You don’t run this board, I do, and there’s nothing wrong with what was said here. Back off *****” he typed.

“You can’t use foul language here. It automatically deletes it” I said, pointing at the screen.

“Shit. I forgot that” he said backspacing, trying to think of a word he could use.

“Wretched beast?” I prompted.

“Yeah, that’ll do” he said, not truly satisfied, but typing in order to interrupt the escalating nastiness.

“Put your name in and hit send” I coached, thoroughly enjoying this.

Jon did as directed and we watched as it came up on the screen. The posting stopped. It just literally stopped dead. Then suddenly a flurry of posts appeared questioning if it could really be him.

“Well, that certainly got their attention” I snickered.

“Yeah, and that ain’t all I’ve got to say” he said, hunting and pecking furiously now. He typed in quite a reply, blasting anyone who had the nerve to attack someone for expressing an opinion, requesting a song, or making a good ’ole lusty comment and threatening to terminate memberships if he saw it happen again. I rubbed his shoulders, tense now with frustration. I was proud of him.

“Is that too strong? Should I take out the threat?” he asked, looking at what he’d written.

“Jon, I think her past behavior warrants a strong warning. I can’t stand the bitch, though, so I’m biased” I answered honestly.

“Okay, if this is any indication of what she’s gotten away with, then the warning is long overdue” he said, hitting send. I smiled then, imagining that there were cheers going on all through “Gutter Land” and elsewhere. Score one for the good guys; cows zero.

We watched the posting frenzy that followed. Jon was beginning to enjoy this, I could see, but the Board was becoming very slow. Word was out and it was jamming up.

“You created quite a stir, you know. The ripples will be felt for quite a while. I‘m really glad you did that” I said, patting him on the head. “Thank you” I added as I was grateful that he took a stand.

He turned to face me, beaming at his own ability to incite chaos. I turned his chin up to me and kissed him.

“Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I hate that sort of shit. I’m gonna email my Mom and have her post a statement to this effect and end it once and for all” he said excitedly.

“Want another coffee before you save the world, Superman?” I teased, kissing him again. He was adorable and so proud of himself.

He looked a little sheepish then and nodded with a smirk. “I know it’s just a Fan Club, but it’s something I can have an impact on and I intend to do just that. I love my fans and I love the fact that they love me. I feel like a shit for never having paid enough attention to take care of this until now. I don’t understand why the people in charge at Backstage have let this go on. There’s gonna be some changes there, believe me” he finished.

“Good. There needs to be. I knew you weren’t going to like what it had become and if you troll around there some more, you may see other stuff too. But maybe you should log out for now so the site doesn’t crash!” I suggested. “I’ll go get us a refill” I added, taking our cups as I headed downstairs.

The phone rang and Jon was still talking when I returned with two steaming mugs. I gathered he was talking to his mother from the sound of things. I handed him the fresh cup and went to poke the fire, which was dying down now, having been unattended with all the excitement. I sat down again and took a sip as Jon looked at me and mouthed “Mom” silently.

“Yeah, okay. I’ll email you what I want you to say. Let me know what you find out. And whatever you want to do is okay with me, just so long as this nonsense stops and the mods start doing their jobs. I love you too” he said as he hung up.

“So it got back to your mom already? Wow. What happened?” I asked, curious.

“They had to lock the board or something to prevent the site from crashing. She’s pissed that the people she put in charge aren’t doing their job. Heads are gonna roll. She said not to go in there anymore for now. I’ll email her instead and she’ll put it up as a letter to the membership or an announcement or something. She’s really pissed. She knows that bitch MB and thinks she’s been distorting things and she’ll get to the bottom of it” he said, seeming more relaxed now.

We sipped our coffee and I filled him in on the history of my favorite thread, the Gutter Dwellers, in more detail than the other night.

“Wish I could have seen those comments. Sounds like you girls really knew how to have some fun. I never looked at the picture stuff. I just assumed it was all pictures and I didn’t want to see some wretched shot of myself shit-faced or doing something stupid. Especially some of those old ones; I’ll never live down the spandex years as it is, so I have no need to be graphically reminded! They just make me cringe” he laughed as I reminded him of some particularly funny ones and how we all knew he was a “lefty”.

“Shit. You’re kidding. People know that?” he said incredulously.

“Baby, we know quite a bit from careful observation of your assets” I teased him.

“Damn. Maybe it’s just as well I never read that stuff. After all, I’m really shy” he said, smirking.

“Yeah, you may be, but “lefty” sure isn’t” I kidded him.

“Okay, maybe shy is a bit of a stretch. Mind if I write that email now? I think I get the gist of what happened on there and I want to do this while it’s still fresh in my mind” he said, still laughing.

“Go ahead. I’ll leave you in peace. I need another quick shower anyway!” I said, thinking he could use some privacy and realizing it was after noon now and we needed to get ready. “I’ll make us some lunch after that. Maybe some pasta?” I asked, standing up.

“That would be great. This shouldn’t take me too long, so we can go out to lunch too if you’d rather. It looks like it’s clearing up” he replied.

I looked out the window and noticed the sun was shining again. All was right with the world.
